Cyber Monday is the best day of the year for everyone who's too lazy, or sane, to go out on Black Friday, and the media was happy to report on it.
Luckily, Conan O'Brien watches a lot of TV and decided to show off how some news outlets creatively covered the event.

Not only did Black Friday (and Cyber Monday) see a spike in sales (both at the stores and online) but credit card usage went up as well.
On Black Friday, purchases made by credit card were up 7.4% from the previous year.
It's a good thing that people are spending money and helping the economy, but not so good that they're doing it with credit.
Though even more surprising is an estimate made by Javelin Strategy & Research that forecasts credit card payments for online purchases will go up 63% by 2016 with just a 2% increase for debit cards.

One item which was in big demand during this Black Friday and Cyber Monday was shoes.
Reports are that shoe sales rose both at stores and online.
Boots particularly were up in sales.

We told you yesterday that Black Friday broke records this year for retail sales, but now the numbers are in and Cyber Monday was also a big hit.
According to International Business Machines Corp's IBM Benchmark, online sales were up by 20% as of yesterday afternoon versus the same time last year.
Last year, Cyber Monday sales reached $1 billion, but this year’s final sales are expected to surpass that figure.

Sounds like everyone held out for the good deals yesterday because according to Coremetrics, Cyber Monday was 2010's biggest sales day — so far.
The analytics group reported sales were up 20% from last year and up 31% compared to Black Friday's online sales.
