Inspiring! Discharged Gay Service Members Say It Gets Better!

Because it does, even when it seems like it doesn't.

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) has done nothing but inspiring and incredible work for the last 18 years, offering legal aid to men and women discharged from the armed forces under DADT. Today, the SLDN took their inspiring work a step further and released an It Gets Better video that not only goes out to young teens fearful of their sexuality, but also to the soldiers currently fighting two wars - the war on terror and the war to be who they were born to be.

Check out the amazing video (above) to hear how SLDN knows it will get better!

Bravo! We're really moved!

Obama Issues A Proclamation For LGBT Pride Month, Doesn't Mention Marriage Equality

Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikBarack ObamaLGBT

barack obama makes proclamation for lgbt pride month

It's a start…but we need more!

Yesterday, President Barack Obama issued a proclamation for LGBT Pride Month, which tackled a bunch of important issues in the LGBT community, BUT he didn't mention marriage equality OR the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

In his defense, he made reference to crucial issues including "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT), workplace discrimination, and hate crimes, but we're disappointed that marriage equality didn't make its way into this proclamation.

Check out Obama's full proclamation AFTER THE JUMP and let us know what U think!

Hey Homophobe! Anderson Cooper's Calling You Out!

Leave it to CNN's Silver Fox to set a crazy straight.

Last night on Anderson 360, Anderson Cooper inducted Cindy Jacobs, the woman who attributed the recent strange deaths of hundreds of birds to the repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell," to his Ridiculist.

Take a listen to what he has to say about her in the clip (above) from the show.

P.S. - This maybe the first time a reference to Babe has been used in a intellectual debate and has made perfect sense.

Such Ignorance! Birds Are NOT Dying Because Of DADT Repeal!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayPolitikPerezTVLGBT

We cannot express enough how shocking, disgusting, and ignorant this is!

Check out the video (above) to see Cindy Jacobs explain why she thinks there may be a connection between birds dying in Arkansas and the repeal of DADT.

Sidenote - Cindy Jacobs believes she is a legit prophet. That should give you an idea of the type of person we're dealing with here.

What do U think about Cindy's comments?

Jane Lynch Wants Obama To Do MORE For Gay Rights

jane lynch wants obama to do more for gay rights

You tell 'em, Jane!

While some progress has been made, such as the repeal of DADT, Glee star Jane Lynch is not satisfied with Obama's gay rights agenda.

Here's what she's had to say about it:

"We thought the great hope of Obama was going to magically change all that, and it doesn't seem to have…He's just nicely walking the middle."

Thank you for continuing to spread awareness!

Let's hope that we can bring about more progress in 2011!

President Obama To Sign Bill To End DADT!

Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikBarack ObamaLGBT

Earlier today, the Senate passed a vote to repeal the 17-year-old policy, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

President Obama praised Congress and sent a letter to the Democratic National Committee and his supporters on his behalf. This is what he wrote:

Moments ago, the Senate voted to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
When that bill reaches my desk, I will sign it, and this discriminatory law will be repealed.

Gay and lesbian service members — brave Americans who enable our freedoms — will no longer have to hide who they are.

The fight for civil rights, a struggle that continues, will no longer include this one.

This victory belongs to you. Without your commitment, the promise I made as a candidate would have remained just that.
