Mario Lopez Pisses Off LGBT Fans By Mentioning Chick-Fil-A On Twitter

Filed under: Gay Gay GayMario LopezTwitter

The protests in front of Chick-fil-A on both sides of the marriage equality debate may have died down, but the issue is still hot!

So hot that celebs are getting flack just by mentioning the fast food chain on Twitter.

Almost two weeks after Mario Lopez admitted he had a craving for the private company's food, LGBT activist Dan Savage and others are giving him a verbal spanking for the remark.

Here's what the Extra and X Factor host tweeted:

Jon Stewart Bashes Chick-Fil-A Protestor For Needlessly Berating Innocent Employee

Filed under: Jon StewartGay Gay Gay

We understand many people are not happy with Chick-fil-A's strong opposition to same-sex marriage, but that's no excuse to berate an innocent employee in the drive-thru window.

Jon Stewart doesn't think so either, so he couldn't help but comment (above) on a viral video of a man insulting a "well-mannered hourly shift worker" for being employed by the fast food chain.

The Daily Show host points out a big issue with this debate. Chick-fil-A employees have nothing to do with Dan Cathy's views on marriage. They are just trying to make a living like the rest of us, so there is no need to personally attack them!

Anybody that starts approaching individual employees to hold them responsible for another person's opinion is doing more harm than good for a movement about acceptance.

Boycott and protest the COMPANY, not the people who are just there to earn a paycheck.

A Gay-Friendly Chicken Chain? Now THAT'S Something We Can Stand Behind!

Schnipper's Quality Kitchen Gay Rights Donate Marriage Equality

Gay-friendly… Stand behind… get it?

Because when engaging in certain perfectly valid forms of sexual activity, one person often positions themselves behind… Oh, you know what? Just Google "anal sex diagram" and figure out our pun for yourselves.

At any rate, we're THRILLED to report many American corporations favor equal rights for their customers.

Schnipper's Quality Kitchen, for example, plans to donate a portion of their profits to Marriage Equality USA.

And, yes, this is a very thinly veiled jab at Chick-fil-A and its gay-bashing owner Dan Cathy.

Schnipper's, an NYC staple, plans to donate a buck from every chicken sale for the entire month of August.

Their Facebook page states:

Gay Employees Of Chick-Fil-A Speak Out! They're Caught In The Middle Of A Heated Public Debate

Filed under: Gay Gay GayMedia Minute

And boy do they have some inneresting things to say. Some good, some bad, and some moments they describe are just AWFUL!

First of all, we realize that Chick-fil-A is a ginormous company with THOUSANDS of employees working at over a thousand locations in 39 states. So to be clear, we don't mean to direct any outrage over the company's anti-gay sentiments toward everybody who has ever collected a pay check from there.

That being said, there is still plenty of bigotry floating around franchise locations around the U.S. and now the employees facing the discrimination that the company supports are sharing their stories.

While Mike Huckabee dubbed August 1 as "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day", one gay employee is calling it

Woman Sues Chick-Fil-A After Being Fired To Be A 'Stay Home Mother'

Chick-fil-A is not only anti-gay, but doesn't want women with children working there either.

The fast food company, which has come under fire since president Dan Cathy openly stated his opposition to same-sex marriage, is now facing a gender discrimination lawsuit.

Brenda Honeycut alleges that the owner and operator of Duluth, Georgia's Chick-fil-A fired her so

Chik Fil A Chicago Denied Permit Rehm Emanuel Joe Moreno Dan Cathy Roseanne Barr

Dan Cathy's chickens hate-filled comments are finally coming home to roost!

The controversial bigoted COO of Chick-Fil-A recently said allowing same-sex marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.”

In an ironic twist, his homophobic viewpoints invited the nation's judgment down on his fast-food chain.

First the mayor of Boston spoke out against his company, and now Chicago politicians are following suit!

City Councilman "Joe' Moreno just vowed to block paperwork the company filed in trying to open up another restaurant in the Windy City.

He emphatically stated:

Two Groups Cancel Chick-Fil-A Appearance

Filed under: Icky Icky PooBusiness Blitz

groups-cancel-appearance-by-chick-fil-a-president.jpg

And for good reason!

Two groups out of St. Louis have canceled an appearance by Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy because of the company's association with an anti-gay group.

Earlier this year, LGBT activists spoke out against the company when one of the chains in Philadelphia was involved with an event run by anti-gay group. Later, it was revealed that Chick-Fil-A founder Truett Cathy had started a marriage retreat that does not allow same-sex couple to attend its conferences.

Cathy was scheduled to speak at a March 18 event, but the group decided to cancel after the Missouri gay rights group PROMO brought the controversy to their attention and asked them to reconsider.

Chamber head Ellen Gale spoke of their decision to cancel, saying:

"We are a pro-diversity culture here and certainly don’t want to offend anyone. We didn't know anything about this when he was booked."

We're glad word is getting out there and shame on Chick-Fil-A for not sending out an apology.
