Lincoln Memorial Closed Due To Vandalism! Boo!

lincoln memorial closed vandalism paint

Oh no!

Four score and a few hours ago, someone sprayed the Lincoln Memorial with green paint!

A visitor discovered the vandalism early Friday morning. The monument has been closed ever since for cleaning.

What a jerk! People come from all over the world to pay their respects to Abraham Lincoln! You mess with him, you mess with America!

And also Daniel Day-Lewis, who isn't American but is probably feeling it deeply. He REALLY gets into character.

We hope there's no permanent damage! We hold these truths to be self evident, that vandals suck!

Barack Obama Gets The Steven Spielberg Treatment At The 2013 White House Correspondents' Dinner!

Barack Obama showed off his comedic chops during his speech at Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Dinner, but that was far from all of the HIGHlarity he brought to the event!

In fact, he also proved that he's a pretty impressive actor, as seen during his appearance in a parody video of Steven Spielberg discussing his cinematic 'follow-up' to Lincoln, chronicling our current President's life and starring notorious method-actor Daniel Day-Lewis in the title role!

That's right, folks! Get ready to watch Barack Obama playing Daniel Day-Lewis playing Barack Obama (above)!

And the LOLz didn't stop there!

Hugh Jackman Gets Presidential On The Late Show With David Letterman!! Watch HERE!

Hugh Jackman makes for one devilishly handsome Abraham Lincoln.

The charming Les Miserables actor made his last campaign for the Oscars by showing up to The Late Show with David Letterman yesterday in an President Lincoln costume.

Ch-ch-check it ouuttt (above)!!!

After sitting down for his interview, the Best Actor nominee combined his musical talents with his acting chops by singing the opening line of the Gettysburg Address.

We're not entirely sure this bit persuaded the Academy that he deserves the Oscar over Daniel Day-Lewis, but he would make for a great leading man in Lincoln The Musical. LOLz!!

Joaquin Phoenix Appreciates His London Critics' Circle Award…But Thinks It Probably Should Have Gone To Daniel Day-Lewis!

joaquin-phoenix-statement-london-critics-circle-award-should-go-to-daniel-day-lewis

Joaquin Phoenix has pretty much made it clear that he despises the celebrity culture and what he perceives to be ego-stroking, entitled accolades that currently encapsulate the profession of acting - and because of this, even went as far as to proclaim that the Oscars are "bullsh*t!"

So it's really no surprise to us that upon winning the title of Best Actor from the London Critics' Circle, for his work in The Master, the actor would use the opportunity in his acceptance speech to speak out against a culture that limits the scope and influence of his performance to exclusively him, and instead thanked his co-stars and director for their contributions to his work… as well as the normally and largely unrecognized crew members, without whom there would be no finished product!

He says:

Daniel Day-Lewis Always Wins Best Actor In A Drama!

Congrats… again!!

Daniel Day-Lewis JUST took home the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actor, Thursday. And noooow he's getting ANOTHER statue??

It's almost not fair. Almost.

Truth be told, DDL totally killed as Lincoln. He absolutely deserves the Golden Globe this year — and the odds are he'll win it again next year!

His fellow nominees shouldn't even bother showing up to the Oscars, LOLz!

Spielberg's Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Trailer Does NOT Suck!

So this is the one without the vampires??

Yup! The only bloodsuckers in this Abraham Lincoln biopic are bureaucrats and politicians! ZING!

Ch-ch-check out Daniel Day-Lewis sportin' a rad old-timey beard in Steven Spielberg's eagerly anticipated Civil War era epic, Lincoln!

Not since the days of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure have we seen such a compelling portrayal of our 16th President!

Other stars of the surefire blockbuster include Robin Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the delightfully delish James Spader, and, look, there's Sally Field getting her Mary-Todd on!

Lincoln will play in theaters everywhere four-score and seven years from now in November!

Except for Ford's Theater, probably. That would just be wrong!
