Steven Spielberg's Newest Lincoln Trailer Challenges The Republic On Debate Night!

Our spines, they are a-tinglin'!

Daniel Day Lewis could read the ingredients off of a box of Frankenberry cereal and he'd still give us goose bumps!

Steven Spielberg's newest Lincoln trailer debuted during last night's presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

Ch-ch-check out DDL looking very Commander-in-Chief-esque as our 16th president (above), in this epic trailer sure to get you in the mood to march on Washington!

Joseph-Gordon Levitt and Sally Field appear stellar in their supporting roles and we're starting to suspect this politically charged film will be spectacular!!

As invigorating as it is to watch Abraham Lincoln fight courageously for equality, it's sad to think his dream hasn't been realized 150 years later!

The President could take a cue from the film and champion an Amendment allowing all couples who love each to know the joy of marriage!

Watch The First Footage From Steven Spielberg's Lincoln

Steven Spielberg's War Horse was nominated for an Oscar at last year's Academy Awards and with Daniel Day-Lewis' help, he just might be nominated again!

The first teaser for Lincoln has hit the web (above) and shows a brief glimpse of the man the biopic is about, as well as the war his name became synonymous with.

We don't see much, but that's because the teaser is actually teasing the first trailer for the film which hits the box office on November 16th.

Tune in to www.LincolnMovieHangout.com on September 13 at 7 p.m. EDT/4 p.m. PDT to watch the world premiere AND a live chat with the film's director, as well Joseph Gordon-Levitt!

Daniel Day-Lewis Lincoln poster

Here Oscar, Oscar, Oscar…here Oscar! LOLz!

We haven't seen a trailer for Steven Spielberg's Lincoln yet, but with Daniel Day-Lewis playing the 16th president of the United States of America, we have no doubt it will be worth the price of admission!

The first poster for the film has been released (above) and it's not too different from that picture we showed you earlier this month of Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln.

Daniel Day-Lewis Is Nearly IDENTICAL To Abraham Lincoln In Steven Spielberg's Newest Movie!

We knew Steven Spielberg hired Daniel Day-Lewis to play the 16th President of the United States in his upcoming historical biopic, but it looks like he decided to travel back in time and kidnap the real Abraham Lincoln instead!

The first image of the Oscar-winning actor as the man on the five dolla dolla bill has been released and the likeness is pretty impeccable, don't ya think?

Based off of just every role he's ever committed too, we're sure Day-Lewis' interpretation will be just as accurate as well!

When asked about the political subject that the film centers on, Spielberg explained:

Spielberg Talks Lincoln, Robopocalypse, Tintin Sequels, And Jurassic Park 4!

steven spielberg talks new projects

Steven is keeping buuuuuuuuuusy!

During a recent interview, Steven Spielberg opened up about a bunch of his upcoming projects, and it sounds like he's got some fantastic stuff in the works!

Here's Steven on Lincoln and Robopocalypse (of course!):

"I just finished shooting a movie about Abraham Lincoln staring Daniel Day-Lewis which I am so deeply proud of. But because I am right in the middle of the editing of Lincoln, I’m not really going to speak and talk very much about that until the time is right to talk about it."

"And I’m making a science fiction movie probably in September called Robopocalypse based on Daniel Wilson’s book. It’s a cautionary tale about war between human beings and robots. It’s a big crowd pleaser, I think, a big action popcorn movie with a message. The message is actually in the popcorn! You have to get the popcorn, dig down deep in the bottom and there’ll be a message about what Robopocalypse is really about! And I have a couple of other plans which I don’t want to go into because they’re too far out of the horizon. But there’s a lot of work ahead, a lot of television my company is producing for some of the networks and some of the cable outlets. So I’m busy!"

More from Steven on Tintin sequels, the first of which is being directed by Peter Jackson:

Orson Welles' Citizen Kane Oscar Goes Up For Sale…Because Apparently You Can Sell Oscars???

citizen kane oscar for sale

Does that mean other people will start putting up Oscars for sale? How much would it cost for Daniel Day-Lewis' There Will Be Blood Oscar? That one seems like it'd be worth having! LOLz!

Today, El Lay's Nate D. Sanders Auctions announced that they'd be putting Orson Welles' Citizen Kane Oscar for sale online this month.

Welles' Kane Oscar was "assumed to be lost" for decades, but it was actually in the possession of a cinematographer who was given the trophy by Welles himself.

The seller's name hasn't been identified, but

daniel day lewis abraham lincoln

Holy hell! That man makes a damn fine Abraham Lincoln!

We already knew Daniel Day-Lewis was going to rock it for Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, but wow.

We're probably going to forget it's hm after the first minute he's on the screen. Sources say he hasn't even changed his accent for months!

DDL is making Stanislavsky proud!
