Everyone can't get enough of the gorgeous costumes by Rodarte in Black Swan.
In a new behind the scenes clip, costume designer Amy Westcott along with Laura and Kate Mulleavy explain the thought process behind their intricate designs.
The film's makeup director Margie Durand also dishes on how they used MAC Cosmetics to achieve the signature look.
Kate and Laura Mulleavy aka the designing sisters that make up Rodarte are spilling the deets on those amazing tutus they created for Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan.
Laura says constructing the 40 costumes for Natalie Portman and the rest of the cast was difficult:
"A tutu is 13 layers of tulle sticking straight out and then it’s over the body, so you can imagine. It’s crazy! Building a tutu is one of the lost couture arts. Everyone will know it’s like getting your hand on the prize, like a coveted piece of couture that no one ever gets to see. You can’t go rent a tutu. You have to own it…They’re never actually perfect, but from afar, when you’re in the audience, it looks like one of the most beautiful things in the world."
We're sure all that hard work paid off and we can't wait to see them on the big screen!
Rodarte's Laura and Kate Mulleavy have made their first foray into costume designing by creating the ballet costumes in Natalie Portman's upcoming film Black Swan.
The sisters ended up making 40 costumes, including the one Natalie's wearing above, that can be seen in the film's "Swan Lake" scenes.
Ok, she's not COMPLETELY bald, but still... HOLY SH*T.
Amanda Bynes was arrested Thursday evening for drug possession, reckless endangerment, and tampering with evidence...
And even though she was cuffed wearing her signature blonde wig, it seems the popo made the former child star REMOVE the fake hair piece for her booking photo!
Ch-ch-check out Amanda's INTENSE mugshot (above)!
Jeeze... she really looks like a SCURRY version of her She's The Man character!
