Report: Shots Fired Amid Ferguson Protests Following Police Chief Resignation, 2 Officers Injured

Two police officers have reportedly been shot in Ferguson, Mo. following the resignation of Police Chief Thomas Jackson.

Protesters gathered outside of the Ferguson Police Department on Wednesday night and into Thursday morning as the latest chapter in the shooting death of Michael Brown unfolded.

While the resignation won't be put into effect until March 19, acting Police Chief Lt. Col. Al Eickhoff said that the shots had been fired from across the street from the station and that it was unknown which jurisdiction the two injured officers were from, but it is believed they are from St. Louis County.

Thomas Jackson chose to resign after a federal Justice Department report found that while Darren Wilson won't face charges, the Ferguson Department itself was guilty of faulty policing.

The two officers were reportedly taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

We will update you as we learn more about the situation, and we just hope that everyone in the area stays safe!

Some of the St. Louis Rams players continued this silent protest on Sunday, after former officer Darren Wilson was not indicted for the shooting last week.

Stedman Bailey, Jared Cook, Chris Givens and receivers Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt were among the Rams who entered the Edward Jones Dome with their hands up as they jogged onto the field before playing the Oakland Raiders.

After a touchdown in the first quarter, the silent protest was seen again.

Well, uh, good news for him?

After the Grand Jury decided against indicting officer Darren Wilson in the death of Mike Brown, the former Ferguson policeman sat down with George Stephanopoulos and he admitted two very big things.

No, not that he regrets shooting the young man to death, nor that he would do anything differently if he were in that situation again.

He confirmed for the world that he DID get married while he was on paid leave AND that his wife is currently pregnant with their first child. We'll let that sink in.
