A new survey from the dating site OkCupid has found that Twitter can be bad for relationships!
Based on a pole of over 830,000 users that contrasted the length of relationships for those who use Twitter every day vs. "everyone else", the frequent tweeter's relationships last less time on average!
The dating site wrote:
"Frequent tweeters have shorter real-life relationships than everyone else, probably via some bit.ly hack. Unfortunately, we have no way to tell who's dumping who here; whether the twitterati are more annoying or just more flighty than everyone else."
Apparently, these results were true regardless of age or gender AND the "twitterati" have slightly higher odds of "masturbating today". LOLz!
Considering they're on the internet more often, they do have more of a temptation to check out those sites that are blocked at work! Ha!
This is kind of dissapointing news because we always thought social networking like Twitter was supposed to bring us closer together, not push us apart. Then again, we're not completely sure how scientifically accurate a study from OkCupid can be.
Still inneresting nonetheless!
Do U think a relationship will be as short as a tweet for frequent Twitter users or is this survey not very convincing?
