Good thing we didn't hold our breath!

[SPOILERS, OBVIOUSLY]

After almost a year of keeping Jon Snow's fate up in the air, Game Of Thrones finally resurrected the fan favorite character at the very end of Sunday's episode.

While we couldn't be more excited for the revival of the Lord Commander, we can't help but feel a little duped by the cast's incessant denial that our favorite crow would ever again have a pulse.

Of course, the cast was just doing their job in countering the heavy fan speculation that the hunky Night's Watchman would live — but man, were they convincing in their ruse!

No one has lied more about Jon Snow's fate than Kit Harington himself, who tried to avoid the press like the plague in the wake of the shocking Season 5 cliffhanger.

But when he did talk to reporters, the actor straight up lied and said he was "not coming back next season."

A few months later, the 29-year-old slightly changed his tune, curtly stating that he WOULD be in Season 6 — only to play a corpse! He told Time Out magazine:

There was a ton of development in the storylines of our favorite Westeros residents throughout season 5 of Game Of Thrones — except, that is, for Bran Stark.

Some fans worry that we'll have to play catch up with Bran's story after he was notably left out of the last season. But the HBO series has us covered, with the help of a new narrative twist!

Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays the warg-in-training, has grown up a lot since we last saw Bran come face-to-face with the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven in the season 4 finale.

Game Of Thrones To Last How Many Seasons? HBO Exec Talks Series Run, Possible Prequel, And Jon Snow's Fate!

Winter is coming… and so is the end of Game Of Thrones!

Okay, it's not ending anytime soon, but HBO's head of programming Michael Lombardo revealed that we can expect just three more seasons of the hit fantasy show before it's epic conclusion!

At the Television Critics Association's summer press tour on Thursday, the executive was asked if the hit show would last after Season 7. Lombardo predicted the show would run for two years after Season 6, which is currently being filmed in Belfast, Ireland. He said:

"[Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] are probably feeling there are two more years after [Season 6]. Seven seasons and out has never been the conversation. The question is how many beyond the seventh season we're gonna do."

While author George R.R. Martin planned seven books for the Song of Ice and Fire series, HBO's juggernaut has taken precedence and will outpace the novels — a release date for the sixth book in the series, The Winds of Winter, has yet to be announced.

Since the GoT universe is so massive, the premium cable network is "open" to exploring more of Westeros after the show ends, with the possibility of a prequel series — if HBO's Small Council is up for it:
