We hope you're not sick of half hour comedies about mothers on the edge of nervous breakdowns, because there's going to be a lot more where that came from!
Showtime announced this morning that their hit shows The Big C and Weeds have been renewed for the 2011 season!
The Big C, which is headlined by the fantastic Laura Linney as a woman attempting to take her life back after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, debuted to 6.5 million viewers - Showtime's highest rated series debut in eight years. And Weeds, which is in the middle of its sixth season, is still holding an audience of about 6 million itself, so we're not surprised that they're sticking around!
David Nevins, Showtime's President of Entertainment, says:
"For six seasons, we've happily travelled along with Nancy Botwin and we're equally as excited to follow Laura Linney and The Big C team. We're thrilled that these two signature shows will be returning to the network in 2011."
It will certainly be interesting to see how long they can extend The Big C - especially when the main character is set to die from the first episode on!
And we wonder how much longer Weeds can go - it's certainly now the same show it started out as!
What do U think?? Will U continue to watch Weeds and The Big C next year??
