Susan Lucci Had No Idea AMC Was Getting Cancelled!

And if Erica Kane wasn't in the loop, you know no one else in the cast was!

Right now, soap fans across the country are in mourning after it was announced that All My Children and One Life To Live are officially going off the air after decades of programming. Fans were shocked, but it turns out, they weren't the only ones. Susan Lucci apparently was completely blindsided by the announcement, as evident by the fact that three days prior, she was raving about the show's success!

When Susan was approached by paparazzi on Monday and asked about the then rumor that the show was going to be cancelled, Susan insisted that there was "no truth to it" and that she was gearing up for another storyline soon. Does that sound like someone who is in the know???

Further confirming Susan's lack of knowledge is her daughter, Liza Huber, who insisted her soap star mother learned about the show's fate on Thursday at the same time producers informed the rest of the cast and the rest of the world found out. While Lisa said her mother was "upset" by the news, she added that Susan has no desire to retire and is looking for new projects as speak.

Good for her! She's a talented and tough lady and she's still got a lot of good years left in this business! How exciting it will be to see what she does next?

Hey, a stint on Hot In Cleveland would be good! Give Betty White a call and set that up!

Daytime Drama At ABC!

abc soaps in danger of cancellation over budget spending and new programming

Oh, woe is daytime television over at ABC. The network just can't seem to get any of its new early-bird programming to work and this might cause trouble for some old favorites.

For awhile now, the alphabet network has had several new daytime talks shows in development that they want to get on the air. Problem is, some of their other programming is eating up all their funds and they're finding it difficult to make peace with that. One of the most costly ventures of the network is their lineup of soap operas. Yes, your stories are costing ABC big bucks as they're all running completely over-budget.

Like All My Children. The House of Mouse uprooted the show's production to Los Angeles last year in an effort to cut down on costs, but the relocation has made little difference. The show's been on the air for over 40 years, but if they can't find a way to decrease the bottom line, it could be coming to an end. The same goes for One Life to Live, except that they've managed to stay under budget consistently. Problem is, they don't grab as many eyeballs as AMC, so they might be cut loose just to make room.

The only show that seems to be safe in ABC's morning lineup is General Hospital. Though they too constantly find themselves over budget, GH remains the networks most popular soap, so its pretty much a safe bet that it won't go anywhere.

It's sad to think that even more longtime soaps will be getting the axe. C'mon, ABC, do we really need more talk shows? Really?

Can someone explain to us this monkey business? Is this all still part of his art project? We don't get it.

Vanessa Marcil Returning To General Hospital!

Look out, Port Charles!

Vanessa Marcil will be reprising her Emmy award winning role as Brenda Barrett on ABC's General Hospital after leaving the show in 2003.

Brenda was last seen in Port Charles when Jax left her at the altar because he saw her kissing Sonny — she left town to mend her broken heart and has been mentioned on the show recently as living abroad.

But she's coming back!

Looking forward to it, GH fans?

James Franco Returns To General Hospital This Summer

If your grandmother is a little antsy when you get home, this should explain it.

James Franco is effing up her favorite soap, General Hospital, again!

Seems James didn't do enough damage the first time around, so now he is back to put the hospital in "peril" as his alternate, evil ego Franco.

According to ABC, Franco is taking the folks of Port Charles on a "wild ride of mystery, music, murder and mayhem," which in soap opera speak means the writers are on hiatus and are letting a casting stunt do the work for them.

ZzzZzz! How can someone so boring be so pretty…and so boring!

Any of U tuning in for his return on GH?
