The Deaf Girl Who Could Hear For The First Time Meets Ellen!

How awesome! Not only can she hear now, but because of that moving video we showed you guys a few days ago, she now has gotten to hang out with Ellen!

One amazing part of this video (other than Sarah was deaf and can now hear) is that the implant/surgery cost $30,000 PER EAR. So she only had one done, and it was paid for by her mother-in-law!

What a wonderful woman!

And then something incredible happens… we won't run it, but it damn near made us cry. Watch the video above!

Whoopi Goldberg Revals Hearing Loss!

Whoopi

Whoopi Goldberg has a message for all those kids out there listening to their hippity hop, bee bop, rock'n jazz roll music too loudly — turn it down!

As it turns out, the View host has suffered permanent hearing loss from listening to music "so loudly and so close to the delicate ear drum."

In July, she attended the Starkey Hearing Foundation's "So The World May Hear" Awards Gala to support her deaf friend Marlee Matlin, but has recently shared the gala was actually more personal.

The Oscar winner said:

"I attribute my own hearing loss - which, by the way, is suffered by thousands of people in varying degrees - to years and years of listening to music so loudly and so close to the delicate ear drum."

We never knew because her hearing aids are covered by those signature Whoopi locks.

Now Whoopi is an advocate for the foundation and urging teens to avoid the same fate by turning down their headphones and speakers.

We hope they listen, but we know how teenagers are! Good luck getting through to them! LOL!

Study Suggests Viagra May Lead To Hearing Loss

Filed under: DrugsWacky, Tacky & TrueSex

Viagra hearing loss

Boner or hearing? Which do U prefer?

Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs have been linked to 47 suspected cases of rapid hearing loss.

That's not good!

A new study, published in the journal The Laryngoscope, said:

"There is increasing evidence that PDE-5 inhibitors may induce sensorineural hearing loss via plausible physiological mechanisms. There needs to be more awareness of this disabling side effect among healthcare professionals responsible for prescribing this drug."

The risk seems VERY low, but it a risk nonetheless. Spokespeople for the drug, however, maintain that reports of a reaction to the drug don't prove that it actually is causing problems.

This news is very alarming, but the amount of people who have experienced these symptoms is so low that more studies are definitely needed before anyone jumps to conclusions.

Debt Relief Is Coming! Marlee Matlin Getting Work

marlee matlin may be able to pay tax debt

Looks like she may be in luck!

Last week, Marlee Matlin opened up about her debt, and admitted that she owes $50,000 in unpaid back taxes.

Now, she may get some financial relief, because aside from Celebrity Apprentice, Marlee's got some jobs on the horizon.

The actress landed a role in Silent Knights, which is the story of "a football coach who takes over a struggling team at a college for the deaf."

She's also secured herself a part on ABC Family's Switched at Birth, which premieres on June 6.

Good luck with the new jobs and settling up your debt with the IRS, Marlee! Everyone's gotta pay those taxes, and that includes you!
