Dustin Hoffman's Director Says Alleged Sexual Harassment Was Him 'Teasing' & Being A 'Kidder'

Sexual harassment is no laughing matter…

As we reported, Anna Graham Hunter is accusing Dustin Hoffman of grabbing her ass, asking for foot rubs, and inquiring about her sex life on the set of the 1985 TV-movie adaptation Death of a Salesman. She was only 17 years old at the time of the alleged incident.

On Friday, DOAS director Volker Schlondorff released a statement defending the now-80-year-old actor, saying he was a "kidder" who was simply "teasing the young, nervous interns, mostly to make them feel included on the set."

According to the filmmaker, Hoffman was known for his sexually charged sense of humor, which apparently made everybody laugh:

"Standard Monday morning question was indeed. 'Did you have good sex over the weekend?' A joke, a running gag, everybody laughed at."'

As for the foot rubs?

Author Claims Dustin Hoffman Sexually Harassed Her On A Movie Set When She Was 17 Years Old: 'I Loved The Attention… Until I Didn't'

Sexual harassment comes in many forms, and not all are as disturbing as being forced to watch Harvey Weinstein jerk off in the shower.

But even when it comes from a charming movie star, getting one's ass grabbed and feeling obligated to giggle through inappropriate conversations isn't much better.

That's the vulgar treatment author Anna Hunter received from Dustin Hoffman when she was working on the set of the film Death of a Salesman at just 17 years old — and to this day, she still feels conflicted about it.

Sharing her old diary entries, the writer recalled Hoffman grabbing her ass, asking her for foot rubs, inquiring about her sex life, and making revolting sexual jokes while they spent time together on set. She claims he joked one morning:

Perez Reviews: Death Of A Salesman

playbill.jpg

We had never seen Arthur Miller's iconic play Death Of A Salesman before Wednesday night. We hadn't even seen the movie! So we were filled with curiosity when we went to catch the new Broadway revival, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Andrew Garfield.

We were expecting great performances, and - thankfully - we were not disappointed! But would we like the show? Would it still be relevant after all these years?

The answers are yes and YES!

We loved Salesman, the play, and loved this Mike Nichols-directed version.

The complexity of families and the dynamic between parents and their children and between siblings - that never gets old! It is material so rich for mining!

The play packs such a emotional punch! There is one scene and moment in the second act, where Garfield's character lashes out at his dad and then crumples in his arms in a ball of tears that is just so powerful! Hoffman and Garfield made it all seem so real! We were bawling ourselves!

The rest of the ensemble was equally good. And we are very happy that we got to experience this production and venture out of our usual comfort zone of just seeing musicals!

Andrew Garfield Shines In Death Of A Salesman Debut … And Guess Who Was In The Audience?!

andrew-garfield-debuts-on-broadway-web2.jpg

Not us (though we wish we were…), but the very next best thing:

His girlfriend gal pal Emma Stone! How supportive!

The ravishing red-headed darted away from the press line as to avoid even more attention, but inside the theater, she was spotted giving a standing O to her man Andrew Garfield as he took his first final bow for Death of A Salesman's opening.

And Emma wasn't the only famous person in attendance either!

Before he puts on his Spidey suit, Andrew Garfield will be a Broadway baby!

As the summer months draw nearer and Andrew's pending superstardom inches closer, the actor is taking the stage for the play, Death of a Salesman.

Starring opposite Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Death will be his first Broadway gig but he has done Shakespeare in London.

But once The Amazing Spider-Man hits, then he'll be on a whole new level!
