June 3 is also the day the Tony Awards are broadcast.
See, Spidey’s was mostly overlooked by the nominating committee and the producers of the hit play (yes, those producers) refuse to take their snubbing sitting down.
They explained their strategy in a joint statement:

We had never seen Arthur Miller's iconic play Death Of A Salesman before Wednesday night. We hadn't even seen the movie! So we were filled with curiosity when we went to catch the new Broadway revival, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Andrew Garfield.
We were expecting great performances, and - thankfully - we were not disappointed! But would we like the show? Would it still be relevant after all these years?
The answers are yes and YES!
We loved Salesman, the play, and loved this Mike Nichols-directed version.
The complexity of families and the dynamic between parents and their children and between siblings - that never gets old! It is material so rich for mining!
The play packs such a emotional punch! There is one scene and moment in the second act, where Garfield's character lashes out at his dad and then crumples in his arms in a ball of tears that is just so powerful! Hoffman and Garfield made it all seem so real! We were bawling ourselves!
The rest of the ensemble was equally good. And we are very happy that we got to experience this production and venture out of our usual comfort zone of just seeing musicals!

Not us (though we wish we were…), but the very next best thing:
girlfriend gal pal Emma Stone! How supportive!
The ravishing red-headed darted away from the press line as to avoid even more attention, but inside the theater, she was spotted giving a standing O to her man Andrew Garfield as he took his first final bow for Death of A Salesman's opening.
And Emma wasn't the only famous person in attendance either!

Before he puts on his Spidey suit, Andrew Garfield will be a Broadway baby!
As the summer months draw nearer and Andrew's pending superstardom inches closer, the actor is taking the stage for the play, Death of a Salesman.
Starring opposite Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Death will be his first Broadway gig but he has done Shakespeare in London.
But once The Amazing Spider-Man hits, then he'll be on a whole new level!

Wow! We didn't expect this, especially on the heels of a franchise!
Andrew Garfied has reportedly signed on to appear in the upcoming Broadway production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, which is being directed by Mike Nichols and co-stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Linda Emond!
The seksi actor will

Well, this just has Tony's written all over it!
Mike Nichols announced yesterday that he would be directing the Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman next fall, and Philip Seymour Hoffman would be stepping into the role as Willy Loman!
Although Hoffman is arguably a lot younger than Loman for the majority of the piece, Nichols doesn't seem too deterred, and explains:
“Willy is different ages over the course of the play — young, middle-aged, old — but what matters is finding the right man to play the part. I’m thrilled to be doing this with Phil.”
We're thrilled, too!
There's no way that this will be anything less than spectacular!
What do U think?? Are U excited for a revival of Death of a Salesman??
