High School Baseball Players Reel In 1,000-Pound Great White Shark!!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueSharkCrazzzzy

It's pretty rare to see a great white shark in South Florida, but it does happen.

It's even rarer to catch one and reel it in!!

A high school baseball team was on a fishing boat in South Florida when exactly that happened!

It took four players over two hours to reel the shark into the boat.

Since great whites are protected, the shark was released so yay! Happy ending!

The 1,000-pound, 10-13ft shark was the largest the ship captain had ever caught in his 30 years of fishing!

Check out the video (above) to see the boys trying to reel in the beast!!

16-Year-Old Girl Reels In 375-Pound MONSTER!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueFishCrazzzzy

While on a family fishing trip in Alaska, a 16-year-old girl reeled in one hell of a catch…

An 88-inch, 375-pound halibut!

She's no stranger to catching big fish as she once caught a 50-inch, 34-pound tiger muskie!

Though that was nothing compared to the monster fish she recently caught.

The halibut was so impossibly huge that they decided to only photograph it then release it, because it could lay around four million eggs a year.

So she got to photograph her prize catch and then release it for the sake of the environment!

Check out the video (above) to see the enormous fish!

David Hasselhoff Has Crabs… Named After Him

A new species of crab was discovered, and scientists have named it the "Hoff" crab after, who else? David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff!

The name came from the fact that the crab has a hairy chest!

Ha!

It's a species of the yeti crab, an appropriately named hairy, white crab.

The crabs like to hang out in huge clumps, at some points nearly 600 crabs per square meter.

Pretty cool to have a crab named after you.

TLC Greenlights A Deep-Sea Fishing Show

TLC has greenlit a new series called Hook, Line & Sisters.

It'll be a reality style documentary series about a family in the world of deep-sea fishing.

The show is about the Anderson family, a dad, mom and two daughters.

They make their living, deep-sea fishing in Alaska.

The show will follow the family through the 3-month fishing season as their dad, the grizzled sea captain, and mom the finance manager try and get by with their two fisher(wo)men daughters (a rarity in the male-dominated fishing industry).

Sierra (26) and Memry (21) are two very different people, with Sierra trying to follow in her father's footsteps while Memry seems to be more about fashion and less about fishing.

Sounds like it'll be an interesting show.

Seems like there will be a lot of room for drama, danger, and more drama.
