Dennis Hopper's Estranged Widow Sues His Family And Trust For $$$$

Filed under: Icky Icky PooLegal MattersSad Sad

dennis-hopper-estranged-wife-sues-family.jpg

This is sad.

Dennis Hopper's estranged widow, Victoria Hopper, has filed a lawsuit against his daughter from a previous marriage, Marin, and the Dennis Hopper Trust.

She alleges that the Dennis Hopper Trust was ordered to pay her and her lawyers $150,000 in legal fees in the bitter divorce battle they were fighting at the time of Dennis' death in May 2010.

She claims that she has not received a single payment from his trust. And on top of that, she says that a child support check in the amount of $12,000 that was sent to her for their daughter Galen, bounced.

Yikes.

The court documents reveal that she requests $1 million from the Trust to "ensure that the funds will be available" until Galen reaches the age of 19.

She's also seeking "damages" of $50,000 a year in lost income, in which she says, "because decedent blocked Plaintiff from obtaining employment, and he never provided or allowed Plaintiff to develop any economic opportunity herself, Plaintiff was unable to seek employment, and Decedent breached his obligation to put her into a business."

She may have a valid claim on the child support, but the "lost income" allegations sound like bullshiz to us.

Thoughts?

Because Why Not? Charlie Sheen Gets A Tattoo On His Chest!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooDrugsCharlie Sheen

charlie-sheen-gets-a-tattoo

Good lord. It's beginning to feel as though he'll never stop.

Now that the 'sleeping giant' of batshit crazy has awakened in Charlie Sheen, he's shown no signs of slowing down, and has hit up essentially every media outlet he can to rant about anything and everything - including his tattoo, which features the words 'Death From Above' across his chest, the slogan from his father Martin Sheen's film, Apocalypse Now!

He explains:

"It's the banner from the death card that Kilgore [the Robert Duvall character] is throwing on his victims. But also falling from it is the apple from [poet Shel Silverstein's] 'The Giving Tree.' There's my life. Deal with it. I'm not just my dad. I'm putting up the river to kill another part of me, which is Kurtz. I'm every character in between, save for that little weirdo with his guts strapped in, begging for water. That's not me. But there are parts of me that are Dennis Hopper. 'You have the right to kill me, but you do not have the right to judge me.' Boom. That's the whole movie. That's life."

Yeah, who the hell knows what he's even talking about anymore?

Just the insane rantings of a very sad, ill man who's unable to understand why he's not getting his way for the first time in his life.

Hopefully soon he'll come down off of whatever insane upper he's on and shut his trap, but we may be in for the long haul here. Ugh.

Thoughts??

Andy Warhol Self-Portrait Sells For $17 Million As London Art Boom Continues

andy warhol portrait sells for 17 million

Last month, an Andy Warhol portrait of Mao Zedong from late actor Dennis Hopper's collection sold for $302,500.

While that seemed like a lot of money at the time, it's NOTHING compared to what art dealer Larry Gagosian paid for a Warhol self portrait at Christie's on Wednesday.

Gagosian dropped 10.8 million pounds, or $17 million, on a "crimson acrylic and silkscreen Warhol portrait, dating from 1967," which hadn't been publicly shown in over 30 years!

Overall, the Christie’s International auction made 61.4 million pounds ($99 million), strongly contributing to the Art Boom currently taking place in London.

Who is your favorite artist? How much would U spend for their work?

Iconic Warhol Screenprint Owned By Dennis Hopper Auctioned For Ten Times Its Original Estimation!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True

Ha! We suppose it IS truly one of a kind!

An Andy Warhol portrait of communist founder Mao Zedong (above), owned - and apparently repeatedly shot at - by Dennis Hopper sold for ten times its high estimate during an auction of the late actor's art collection at Christie's yesterday!

The 1972 screenprint was estimated to sell for $20-$30k during the two-day event, but was considered unique because of the bullet holes in it, which Hopper famously fired when he "mistook the portrait on his wall for Mao himself and shot at it."

He later showed Warhol himself what he had done, who decided to consider the work a collaboration, and then drew circles around the points of entry, labeled the hole over Mao's right shoulder a "warning shot" and the one in his left eyelid the "bullet hole."

The piece was sold yesterday for a whopping $302,500!

Wow! With a story like that, we're frankly surprised that no one expected it to sell higher than their original estimation!

Who wouldn't want something that ridiculous?!

LOLz! Hopefully now it's going to a good home!

Dennis Hopper's Art Collection Going Up For Auction

dennis-hopper-art-up-for-auction.jpg

With Dennis Hopper no longer with us, his vast collection of art, which includes some rather interesting pieces, is finally going up for sale.

Dennis was known as an avid collector of art. Among the 300 pieces in his collection are some rare prints from Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. In fact, Dennis famously shot two bullet holes through Warhol's portrait of Mao Zedong back in the day. Warhol called him a collaborator and now, the "Mao" piece is one of the high-ticket items going up for sale. The 1972 colored screenprint is expected to bring $20,000 to $30,000.

All of Dennis' pieces will be up for auction at Christie’s next week and being a photographer and painter himself, perhaps there might be a piece or two of his up for grabs as well.

We're sure it'll be one of the more interesting collections to behold. No doubt someone is going to walk away with some amazing pieces of art.

One question though - where's all the money from this auction going? Not to his ex-wife, we hope!
