Reps for Sum 41announced this morning that the band has canceled their spot on the Vans Warped Tour as frontman Deryck Whibley is still in the hospital.
You'll recall that poor Deryck was brutally attacked at a bar in Japan earlier in the week that has left him hospitalized with a slipped disc. The band hopes to get back on the road by the end of August, but they send their heartfelt regrets to their fans who were hoping to catch them on the Warp Tour. Drummer Steve Jocz said:
"[We] are very disappointed that we have to pull off the tour. [But] we know that it would be more frustrating for the fans if we can't give it our all. Deryck is doing everything he can to get himself better and we're there for him."
Speaking of Deryck, sources say that his condition has not improved since his attack but he is expected to make a full recovery with "the necessary treatment and rest."
Poor guy! We continue to wish him a speedy recovery!
Sum 41's frontman Deryck Whibley has been hospitalized after being attacked by 3 unknown suspects in a Japanese bar.
The band wrote a status update on their Twitter, saying:
"Deryck Whibley was attacked in a bar last night by 3 unknown people. He is in the hospital now. Japanese police are looking into the matter."
Later, they updated their status, adding:
"It is unfortunate to say, but Deryck Whibley is still in the hospital. He was attacked late last night in Japan. We are waiting for results and we are hoping for the best. Thanks for your support."
While on the June cover of Inked, Avril Lavigne dished on her relationship with her ex Deryck, potential new tattoos and fans getting inked in tribute.
By the way, her favorite tattoo is the one that says "FUCK" on her rib cage. It's apparently her favorite word! Ugh.

Yesterday,Avril Lavigne was caught making out with Brody Jenner in his car in El Lay. After he gave her a thrill, they drove off, hopefully to explain to Deryck Whibley that they are back together again.
If not, he sure knows about it now!

It's been one hell of an eventful evening/morning for former charming actress Amanda Bynes -- a drug related arrest, overnight stay in a holding cell, courthouse hearing -- but now the question is...
