Freida Does BlackBook!

Gorgeous!

Slumdog Millionaire starlet Freida Pinto is on the cover of BlackBook magazine's December issue looking like we've never seen her before.

And that's a good thing!

Freida also opened up to the mag about her romance with co-star Dev Patel and her future in film:

On rumors of her engagement to Dev:

"Dev had such a problem trying to tell people that was not true. I’ve decided not to answer stupidity with more stupidity."

On worrying about having a career after a huge first film:

"When your first film happens to be such a big success, there’s going to be pressure and expectations, and people are going to dissect you in a way that’s almost uncomfortable. I was worried people might dismiss me as someone who had 20 minutes in a film and now considers herself a big star. But it’s like, my god, I never asked for this."

On whether she’ll ever do a Bollywood film:

"People in India wonder why I’m staying clear of Bollywood films. I’m not staying clear of them, but there are some amazing films in India, made on a much smaller scale, that don’t get the same appreciation as the big Bollywood films, and I’ve never understood why. Those are the films that I want to be a part of, so I’m just waiting for something like that to come my way, and I’m telling you, I’m going to grab it with both hands."

We're glad to see Freida is getting some editorial love and hope to see more of her in 2011!

The Office Is Coming To China

First the UK…then the U.S….now China…what will be next? Will Ricky Gervais’ 157th version of The Office take place in the Arab country Qatar?

Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, though. Next on Gervais’ agenda, he’ll be putting together a version of The Office in China. Here’s what he had to say about it:

"I have some amazing news… We are about to start work on developing a Chinese 'The Office'. How cool is that?"

Pretty cool, Gervais.

Let’s just PRAY they don’t surprise us by using an all-white cast, despite the Chinese setting. We don’t want Dev Patel to have a heart attack!

How do U feel about a Chinese Office?

Dev Patel Vs. Racist Hollywood

Who knew that The Last Airbender would be the last big role for Dev Patel?

Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel is angry with Hollywood because he is not getting offered substantial roles. Here’s what Dev had to say about it:

"Because Slumdog was such a big hit there was a lot of pressure in terms of what I did next. For my second film I wanted a role that would stretch me, but all I was getting offered were stereotypical parts like the goofy Indian sidekick.”

Not cool, Hollywood not cool. More from Dev:

"Asian actors tend not to be sent Hollywood scripts that are substantial or challenging. I'm likely to be offered the roles of a terrorist, cab driver and smart geek… I want to show that I have versatility. You have to remember that, before Slumdog, the last film about India that went big at the Oscars was Gandhi, as played by Ben Kingsley. The fact that me and Freida have any kind of platform in Hollywood is a big step forward."

And finally:

"I'm buzzing with adrenaline and raring to go, but I have to be realistic. Being an Asian actor, it's never going to be easy. Hopefully the industry is changing and the casting directors will be less focused on colour so that people like myself can get through the door."

Unfortunately for Dev Patel, choosing The Last Airbender as his second film has only caused further problems. The film has been a source of protest, and it’s been accused of racism for having white actors play roles that were Asian in the original cartoon show.

We hope things change for the better too, Dev!

Do U think Hollywood is racist?

Two Original Castmembers Sign On To Skins Film!

Yes! We have an even better feeling about this flick if THEY'VE agreed to come back!

The amazeballs UK teen drama Skins is being adapted for the big screen, and we heard rumblings that some familiar faces from past seasons may be returning!

We're absolutely THRILLED to now be hearing that actors Nicholas Hoult and Dev Patel will be reprising their roles as Tony and Anwar!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

A source confirms:

"Even though Dev and Nic have grown up, they'll have no trouble reprising their mischievous roles."

This is fantastic news! We wonder how many from each series will be in the film, though!

We NEED to find out what happened to Cassie and Sid! And what about our beloved Maxxie??!

What do U think?? Who do U want to see return for the big-screen version of Skins??
