What a sickening twist.

According to local Texas newspaper Star-Telegram, on Thursday Craig Vandewege was arrested for the murder of his wife Shanna Vandewege and his 3-month-old infant son Diederik.

As we previously reported, Craig claimed he came home on the evening of December 15 to find Shanna and Diederik dead with their throats slit. The shocking murder occurred shortly after the couple relocated from Colorado to Texas for new jobs.

At the time of our report, Vandewege was not considered a suspect and had been cooperating with police.

Unfortunately, the dad was arrested in Colorado for capital murder a little more than a week after the killings while in town for the Shanna and Diederik's funerals.

Texas Mother & Her Infant Son Found Dead With Their Throats Slit — Murder Investigation Underway

What a heinous tragedy.

Late last week, new mom Shanna Riddle Vandewege and her 3-month-old son Diederik were found murdered in their Texas home. Both victims were reported to have had their throats slit.

According to multiple reports, Shanna's husband Craig Vandewege found the pair dead upon returning home from work around 9:30 p.m. on December 15. At this time, Craig has been cooperating with investigators and has not been named as a suspect.

To make this incident even more upsetting, sources reveal Mrs. Vandewege had suffered multiple miscarriages before finally conceiving her son. The baby was a miracle child for the slain mom.
