Jack Osbourne Was FIRED Following His MS Diagnosis??

We heard the SUPER sad news last week that Jack Osbourne had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and ever since, Jack's been speaking out about the disease and how it's been affecting him.

Jack recently stopped by his mom Sharon's show, The Talk, to reveal a pretty unfortunate situation that he came across after his diagnosis.

Take a look at the clip (above) to hear about Jack getting FIRED from a job because of his MS!

Talk about ignorant…AND illegal!

MS can potentially be a disabling disease, but people with it are STILL able!

While the news of Jack's diagnosis is devastating, we're glad that he's been able to bring awareness and hopefully help educate others on multiple sclerosis!

To hear Osbourne talk more about the symptoms he's had, as well as explain the disease in his own words, check out the video… AFTER THE JUMP!

Judge Declares NYC Taxis MUST Be Equipped To Help Handicapped

Taxi ruling

Such wonderful news! It's just a shame it took this long.

A judge declared on Friday that New York City's Taxi and Limousine Commission could not issue permits for taxicabs unless they're accessible to people using wheelchairs, writing:

"Meaningful access for the disabled to public transportation services is not a utopian goal or political promise, it is a basic civil right."

The ruling is the result of a lawsuit against the taxi commission for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act since less than 2% of cabs are wheelchair accessible.

Disability Rights Advocates, a non-profit, called this "the best Christmas gift our clients could ask for" and we couldn't agree more!

EQUALITY FOR ALL!

Army Football Coach Is NOT Being All He Can Be For His Love Child

Army captain

Ugh! This is one troop we can not support!

Capt. Clarence Holmes, a married Army football coach, is refusing to add a child he fathered out of wedlock in 2009 to his health insurance, despite the boy's rare disability.

Now Nicole Logsdon, the mother of Holmes' 22-month-old son Grayson Logsdon, is suing him because the boy was born with a tongue condition, which requires a $2,000 surgery she can't afford.

When Holme's met his baby mamma in 2008, he

Annie Lennox Reveals Foot Drop Syndrome

Annie Lennox

Oh no! We're so sorry to hear this!

Annie Lennox has revealed that she has been battling a painful foot condition called foot drop syndrome since 2008.

As a result, her left foot is permanently numb "with constant pins and needles". She shared the handicap with her fans on Facebook, writing:

"Three years ago I found myself in the most extreme pain I've ever experienced. It turned out that I had a dropped foot, caused by my spinal column being impinged by a bulged disk. For the first time in my life, I was facing a real physical handicap, and had no idea whether I'd ever be able to walk normally again. It took months of physiotherapy to get movement back in my left foot, but gradually…painstakingly…my toes began to move again, to the point where I don't even have a perceivable limp. Now, the only drawback is that I have a permanently numb left foot, which feels as if it's stuck in a bucket of ice, with constant pins and needles. It's very strange, but somehow I've managed to adapt, and I find that I'm less aware of it than I was before."

Ugh! We couldn't imagine experiencing that, but are so happy to hear Annie is adapting.

Despite the sudden physical disability, the 56-year-old was at least grateful her feet lasted as long as they have, continuing:

"The reason I'm blogging about my feet is that I'm so grateful for the 53 years of great service they've given me. And if this hadn't happened, I would be coasting along, not realizing what a gift it is to have something I'd taken for granted all my life. Thanks to my neurosurgeon, the nurses, and my physiotherapists, I can walk quite decently."

We love the optimism! It's always a good idea to look at the bright side!

Armless Archer Sets World Record!

Move over Robin Hood! This guy is WAY more impressive!

Matt Stutzman, an man born with no arms, has just outdone archers across the world who have the benefit of two working hands at their side.

The world-class archer has set the Guinness World Record after hitting a target from 230 yards away. That's more than two football fields of open space between him and a target.

This guy is not only an amazing archer, but an amazing role model to ANYONE, whether they are disabled or not!

Despite his disability, he's completely self-sufficient and has been for years thanks to his parents tough love as a kid. He explained to reporters:

"I was born this way. I know when I was little and I needed something then my parents would kind of say, 'Hey, well figure it out yourself.' Because they did that, when I got older I didn't have to rely on anybody and I could just figure things out on my own."

We're going to go out on a limb here and say his parents raised him right because he did a pretty good job of figuring out the sport of archery on his own.

Check out the video above to see Matt break a world record!

Disability Prevents Quadriplegic From Opening Chute During Skydiving Death

Parachute death

So tragic!

Zack Fogle of Kingston, Washington plunged 18,000 feet and 120 MPH to his death in Salmon, Idaho on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was a veteran skydiver, but was also a quadriplegic since an unfortunate auto accident in high school.

An examination of video and statements made by witnesses have revealed that there were no malfunctions with his equipment, but instead his disability prevented him from being able to deploy the main chute.

While there were rumors of suicide, Flathead County Undersheriff Jordan White dismissed the notion, saying:

"Zack died with another jump pass in his pocket. He was living his dream. His was an incredible story of his drive to live and to excel in this sport despite being disabled from an (automobile) accident when he was a junior in high school."

Ugh! Such a sad story and we're so sorry to hear about it! Our hearts go out to the Fogle family for their loss and wish that Zack rests in peace!
