Doesn't make sense?!?!?! Well let us (by us we mean scientists) explain!
Scientists once estimated that over 100 million species of plants and animals roam the earth. With a number that high, many believed that there was no way to discover and name all of them before some went extinct.
Not so fast!
Recently, researchers have found that this may not be the case. With the increase in taxonomists, it is possible to name all of the world's unknown species?!?!
Looks like we're going to have to change our weeklyNature Killing Us All to a daily show!
Tuck in your kids extra tight tonight and tell them that everything is going to be okay as long as they STAY AWAY FROM THE OCEAN!
The reason being??? GIGANTIC SQUID!!!!
Filmed in the depths of the Pacific Ocean blue by Japanese scientists, a giant squid has been caught on tape.
These somewhat mythical creatures are hard to get a glimpse of and we're perfectly fine with that. But the Japan's Natural Science Museum snagged footage of the squid and it was broadcast all over the country!
The researchers teamed up with the Discovery Channel and Japanese station NHK, and both will be airing specials on the find later this month.
Check out this crazy huge squid (above) to see your new worst nightmare!
A couple days ago, we showed you a CRAAAAAAZZZZY giraffe fight, and while we don't see this on a regular basis, the Discovery channel is showing us a super VIOLENT look at how these animals throw down!!
In the clip (above), which is narrated by Forest Whitaker, we get a look at the 90-second film dubbed Kalahari, and we cannot believe how intense giraffe fighting is!!
These animals literally know how to go neck and neck!! LOLz! Just watch them go at (above)!
