Amy Schumer, Blake Lively, & Katie Holmes BLAST Sexist Magazine Cover!

Blake Lively and Amy Schumer

Ugh, this is so not OK!

An image has been circulating online in recent weeks showing a side-by-side image of the covers for teen magazine's Girls' Life and Boys' Life (which are surprisingly not affiliated) — and now, Amy Schumer, Blake Lively, and Katie Holmes all have something to say about it!

On the cover targeted for young girls, the headlines read phrases along the lines of "Wake up pretty!," "Your Dream Hair," "100+ ways to SLAY on the first day," "The new denim checklist," and "How to have fun, make friends and get all A's."

On the boys version, the words "Explore Your Future" are blasted across the front with images of professional tools, like a computer and stethoscope.

Sigh.

North Carolina's Anti-LGBT 'Bathroom Bill' Left Intact By Lawmakers Who Had Opportunity To Change It

This is so sad.

On Friday, North Carolina lawmakers in the state's General Assembly had the ability to change up HB 2 — the bill that stoked nationwide outrage over its discriminatory nature towards transgender individuals.

But unfortunately, the legislators left the bill largely intact, choosing only to make one very minor revision to the measure and leaving it as bigoted and short-sighted as it's been in the past.

The change — voting to restore workers' rights to use state laws to sue over employment discrimination — won't enhance workplace protections on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. It also doesn't affect other provisions that are being blasted by gay rights advocates, business leaders, and more.

No provisions were made surrounding the state's requirement that transgender individuals use the public bathrooms corresponding to the sex on their birth certificates, nor were there

When it comes to fighting for equal pay, the U.S. women's soccer team isn't playing around!

Last month, five players from the Women's National Team filed a wage-discrimination complaint against U.S. Soccer because they are paid less than half as much as players on the men's team!

On behalf of the entire women's team, co-captain Becky Sauerbrunn, Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, and Megan Rapinoe filed paperwork in hopes of achieving wage equality.

And it looks like the athletes are sticking to their guns. If nothing changes in the federation, the team might use their most powerful bargaining tool in protest of wage discrimination — and not show up to August's Olympics!

In an interview with ESPNW, Sauerbrunn revealed a boycott would "still be on the table" if no progress was made by July, explaining:

Speaking on Monday, Governor Deal stated unequivocally House Bill 757 "doesn't reflect the character of our state."

He added some very strong words against the measure, which would have granted faith-based organizations the right to deny service to those who violated their "sincerely held religious belief," as well as allowing those organizations to fire employees.
