Disney Jr Orders Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs Animated Series

Yay!

Our favorite seven dwarfs are getting their own television show on Disney Junior.

It's called 7D and it will be a new animated series based on the classic story - it's scheduled for a 2014 premiere.

Here's how the show is described:

"A comedic take on the world of Seven Dwarfs in a contemporary storybook world, 7D takes place in Jollywood where Queen Delightful relies on the 7D — Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy and Doc — to keep the kingdom in order. Standing in their way are two laughably evil villains, Grim and Hildy Gloom, who plot to take over the kingdom by stealing the magical jewels in the 7D’s mine."

We're sure this show is bound to dwarf all of its competitors.

Even though there doesn't appear to be a Snow White - we still have a good feeling this show will be soooo tight!

Sharon Osbourne and David Arquette are the voices of Mama Hook and Skully on the popular Disney Junior show, Jake and the Never Land Pirates.

The two stars were on hand for the unveiling of the new Disney products inspired by characters on Disney Junior aimed at kids age 2-7.

The programming block is launching a 24 hour network that will include new series, like the animated show Doc McStuffins.

In their new toy line, the products are "packed with creativity to inspire hours of imaginative play based on popular play patterns with preschool-aged kids."

These look super fun and great for kids! Seems like Sharon and David are still kids at heart.

Disney Channel To Launch Network "Disney Junior" Aimed At Pre-Schoolers

Ready for some more Disney?

LOL, well too bad if you're not.

The Disney Channel has announced that they're launching a new 24-hour network, aimed at the "preschool-plus" market and will begin broadcasting on March 23.

The new channel, Disney Junior, is said to replace SOAPnet on most cable providers and will include a new show called Doc McStuffins, which follows the tales of a six-year-old girl and her ability to speak with her stuffed animals.

Cuuuute!

Existing programs like Micky Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, Rolie Polie Olie, and Jake and the Never Land Pirates will also be added the network's roster.

Parents, don't fret if your cable provider doesn't include the new Disney Junior channel as The Disney Channel will continue to include the Disney Junior programming block.

Kids are going to craaaAAaaazy for this!

In case your kids don't love the Disney franchise already, they certainly will now!

R.I.P. SoapNet!

Sorry, all of you Dynasty re-run addicts! It's time to say good-bye!

In a surprise move, Disney is closing down shop on its SoapNet channel and launching the pre-school oriented Disney Junior channel in its place!

Anne Sweeney, co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of Disney/ABC Television Group, announced:

"The decision to ultimately transition SoapNet to accomplish this was not arrived at lightly. SoapNet was created in 2000 to give daytime viewers the ability to watch time-shifted soaps, before multi-platform viewing and DVRs were part of our vocabulary. But today, as technology and our businesses evolve, it makes more sense to align this distribution with a preschool channel that builds on the core strengths of our company."

We wonder how this new channel will fare against the already established PBS Kids and Nick, Jr.!

What do U think?? Is Disney making a smart move replacing their soaps with more children's programming??
