Super Rare Halloween Lobster On Display At New England Aquarium!

Super rare half black half orange lobster is New England Aquarium's Halloween mascot!!

Whoa! What the heck kind of lobster is that??

Did someone paint half of a lobster black??

Nope! That's au natural!

Last year, a lobsterman Dana Duhime, caught the 1-pound rare female lobster and immediately knew he had something special.

The lobster, named Pinchy, was given to the New England Aquarium and was stuck in a mandatory 30-day quarantine last Halloween, so she was unable to participate in any festivities. Even though she's perfectly colored for the season!

But not this year!!

This year, the aquarium is all about Pinchy, allowing any child wearing a costume to get into the aquarium for free "to celebrate looking different," said an aquarium spokesman.

Pinchy sure is different! She's so rare, only about one in 100 MILLION lobsters will be dual-colored, perfectly split down the middle!

That's AH-mazing!

Wanna go see Pinchy in person?? She'll be on display at the New England Aquarium until November 3rd!

Watch the World’s Largest Shark Tank on LIVE Webcam

Yes, your prayers have been answered!

To get psyched for Shark Week, the Discovery Channel teamed up with the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta to place a live streaming peephole in the aquarium’s Ocean Voyager exhibit!!

The exhibit, which was designed to house whale sharks, holds 6.3 million gallons of seawater, enough to fill nine and a half Olympic swimming pools. It is home to seven different types of sharks, including enormous whale sharks, vicious-looking sand tiger sharks, and bottom-dwelling masters of disguise called spotted wobbegongs.

It also holds several other species of fish and four manta rays, the only manta rays ever to live in a U.S. aquarium.

Despite the popular image of sharks as creatures of speed and violence, the view in the tank is peaceful and soothing.

But we're sure it'll get fun during feeding!

We Did It! Victory In Florida!!!

YES!!!

Remember this video , which we made for PETA last month?

Well, we're thrilled to announce that the bill that would have banned the filming of animal abuse on factory farms in our home state of Florida has officially died!

This is a victory for animals and protects the valuable undercover work that is so important in revealing cruelty to animals.

Unfortunately, similar bills in Iowa and Minnesota are still pending. A citizen's right to document cruelty to animals wherever it occurs is crucial in helping local, state, and federal officials enforce anti-cruelty laws.

Even if you live outside Iowa and Minnesota, you can still help stop these bills! The meat from slaughtered animals crosses state lines, and the governments in these states need to hear from all consumers across the country—from meat-eaters to vegans—who care about the treatment of animals who are killed for food.

Click HERE to urge the governors of Iowa and Minnesota to veto any of these bills that reach their desks!

How NOT To Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

How NOT To Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Not Cute.

Some restaurants get festive with some streamers and a piñata. Others spray paint a live donkey, tag it with their company name and chain it to their entrance.

That is exactly how Pink Taco in Century City celebrated Cinco de Mayo.

Wonder what marketing dimwit, sloshed off too many overpriced margaritas, came up with the genius idea.

The glaringly pink donkey, standing in 85-degree-plus heat, was sighted by several concerned passersby, who instantly turned to Twitter and Facebook.

An officer gave Pink Taco a cease and desist order, making the restaurant take down the "display" as it didn't have a permit. The officer checked for signs of animal cruelty, and found that the paint was not toxic and adequate food and water were provided.
