Teen Tragically Kills Herself After Tweeting 144 Times

Ashley Billasano

So Sad!!

Instead of going to school Tuesday morning Ashley Billasano, a Texas teen, committed suicide.

This tragic insolent could have been prevented, if only someone, ANYONE, had responded to one of the 144 tweets she sent out before taking her life!!

"It's obvious [Billasano] needed somebody to talk to and that's what I believe those tweets were …she was trying to communicate and trying to get people to talk to her,"

said Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department chief Craig Brady, making an observation that anyone could see.

For six hours the 18-year-old tweeted about being molested and forced into prostitution, and none of her 500+ followers said a thing back.

Ashley talked about seeking help. She wrote:

"I remember telling my closest teacher and CPS and the police detectives. I remember having to tell them everything.

"Weeks passed, then I got the call. They said sorry but there isn't enough evidence I hung up."

She said she had tried killing herself before:

"I took apart a razor. I did what I had to do to forget. I swear after that night I was never the same"

Her final tweet:

"Take two. I hope I get this right."

Why wasn't anyone there to stop her? Suicidal teens continue to seek help through facebook, twitter, and blogs, and they're outcries appear to go unnoticed.

We have to do something to change this. Ashley's death, others like her, could have been prevented!!

Study: Hispanic Kids The Largest Group Of Children Living In Poverty

Study: Hispanic Kids The Largest Group Of Children Living In Poverty

This is really just sad!

This is the FIRST time in U.S. history that poor white kids have been outnumbered by poor children of another race or ethnicity, according to a new study.

The report released Wednesday, proves that America's Hispanic community has been hit harder by the recession than any other group.

High birth rates suggest that childhood poverty for Hispanics is not just a temporary thing. Mark Lopez, an author of the study, says:

“Hispanics have really been slammed with what’s been going on in the past three years. A lot of Latinos invested most of their wealth in buying homes. It’s the American dream. When people lost their homes, as lots of people in the Latino community did, they get wiped out. If both unemployment and foreclosure affect your family, clearly the chances you’re going to live in poverty go way up”

Hispanics are the most impoverished, but don't have the highest rate of poverty. The study says poverty rate for black kids is 39 percent, Hispanics are 35 percent, and only 12 percent of white kids live in poverty.

This is so sad! 12 percent is too high for ANY race!!

It's t-shirt tiiiiiimmmmeee for Vinny Guadagnino.

On Monday, the Jersey Shore guido will launch his own t-shirt line called I-HAV or I Have A Vision.

But unlike The Situation, Vinny's tees are supporting more than himself.

A portion of sales from his first design will benefit DoSomething.org, who provides grants to schools for anti-bullying initiatives.

Loves it!
