Hacker Takes Sweet Revenge On Dog Wars Downloaders

Best. Prank. Evzies.

Last spring we posted about this gross Andriod app that mimics dogfighting called Dog Wars.

The inhuman app that lets you "feed, water, train and fight your virtual dog" was taken off the virtual shelf back in April. Sadly, the can still download the app from unauthorized sites.

BUT the scum looking to download the app should be warned (or not)!!

Some amazballz animal lover has put a HIGHlarious virus in the app that texts all your contacts that says "I take pleasure in hurting small animals, just thought you should know that!!” HAHAHA!!

Oh, that's awesome!

In addition, on the hacked version where it used to read “BETA” at the top of the app, it now says “PETA.” The hacker also made it so the user’s smartphone will attempt to sign up for PETA’s text messaging service. LOVE IT!

ASPCA Victory: New Animal Fighting Law in New York

New Animal Fighting Law in New York

Yay!

New York's new law strengthens current state laws against animal fighting and makes attending a dog or cockfight in New York a misdemeanor offense. That's the way it should've always been… but whatever. It's a law now and that's all that matters.

Debora Bresch, senior director of ASPCA Government Relations said:

“Animal fighting is an extremely cruel, but lucrative, underground business. It is often associated with a host of other dangerous and illegal activity, including drugs, weapons, and gambling, all of which pose serious threats to public safety. This law will help law enforcement by allowing them to pursue and punish the spectators who drive the market for animal fighting, keeping it alive.”

Animal fighting is a felony in all of our 50 states, and most activities related to animal fighting including training animals to fight and allowing your property to be used for an animal fight (being a prick) are also felonies in Ny.

Animal attending an animal fight is still just a fine in Connecticut and New Jersey.

Srsly Connecticut? We'd think the wealthiest state would be on top of that.

Did Michael Vick And Alicia Silverstone Bring An End To The Dogfighting App?

Vick and Siverstone 4 Life

Cudos to the unlikely team!

We posted yesterday about the disgusting Android app Dog Wars, which lets players "feed, water, train and fight your virtual dog," that was pissing off millions of people, including Mr. Vick.

Today we are super pleased to announce it's off the market, thanks to the unlikely team of Alicia Silverstone and Michael Vick.

Yesterday longtime vegan Silverstone spoke out against the game. She told E!:

"As a mom-to-be and someone who has adopted and loved rescued pit bulls. I join PETA's millions of members in imploring you to cancel this game immediately. If one dog dies as a result of this game, you will not forgive yourself."

Despite these criticisms, Dog Wars manufacturer Kage Games sounded unrepentant in a statement:

"Remember: It is just a video game. . . . Go complain to someone who cares about Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Weed Farmer, Smoke A Bowl . . . and maybe even Sierra's Leisure Suit Larry from 1987."

It's true that many video games glorify cruelty to human beings, and so focusing on a dogfighting game while ignoring all of them seems a little myopic.

And while E! speculates that the Android Market had pulled the game in response to pressure, Kage Games says on Twitter that they pulled the game themselves to make updates. They add,

"It lives……Dog Wars lives! Making some updates we'll be back up shortly!" And so the Dog Wars wars continue.

Even Michael Vick Calls This App "Animal Cruelty"

dog wars even pisses off michael vick

Finally, a cellphone app that actually makes you barf!

Michael Vick has TEAMED UP with the Humane Society (we know, right?) against an application built to run on Google Inc.'s Android software that glorifies dogfighting.

The app is called "Dog Wars" and lets players feed, water, train and fight their virtual dogs against others.

In a statement posted on the Humane Society's website Vick said:

"I've come to learn the hard way that dogfighting is a dead-end street. Now, I am on the right side of this issue, and I think it's important to send the smart message to kids, and not glorify this form of animal cruelty, even in an Android app."

We never thought we'd say this but - we totally agree with you Michael Vick!
