Not even Colin Farrell in your remake can deter audiences from STILL choosing to see The Dark Knight Rises over you!

That's right, the concluding chapter to Christopher Nolan's trilogy topped the box office this weekend with a DOMINATING $36.4 million, while the aforementioned action reboot apparently opened little-to-no better than its original version in 1990, with $26 million!

As box-office analyst Jeff Bock explains:

"For a late sumer film, with a budget like this, you obviously expect more…It's definitely a misfire."

Yeesh! Not too good!

But we STILL think Kate Beckinsale looks BADASS in it!

Maybe not as badass as Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, but still!

Wow! We knew this was going to be big!

The Amazing Spider-Man has been making all kinds of money since it hit theaters six days ago, and as the weekend wraps-up, the Andrew Garfield-starring reboot of the franchise made another $65 million, bringing its domestic total to a whopping $140 million, and $341.2 million WORLDWIDE!

It may not be at the top of the box-office anymore, but The Avengers is STILL breaking records!

On Friday, the Marvel action flick officially surpassed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 as the THIRD biggest movie of ALL-TIME, with a worldwide box office of $1.331 BILLION!

Wow! The only two movies above it are Titanic at $1.8 billion and Avatar with $2.8 billion!

Sorry Men In Black III!

After the sci-fi three-quel finally knocked The Avengers off of its box office thrown last weekend, it appears that Snow White and the Huntsman is set to take the number one spot this weekend, as it's already made an impressive $20.3 million in one day of its release in 3,772 theaters across the country, and is projected to have garnered $55 million by Sunday!

And that's not all!

It's been a great run, but The Avengers' box-office reign has come to an official end!

As it was predicted, the action flick was bumped to second after three weekends on top, taking in $37 million and bringing its domestic total to $514, while Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones DOMINATED with Men In Black III opening domestically to $55 million between Friday and today!

Surprising, given the amount of shenanigans he's gotten himself into while promoting this flick!

While Sacha Baron Cohen's latest, The Dictator, has had a pretty impressive overseas debut, even opening in Australia at #1 on Wednesday and beating out The Avengers, the film hasn't fared nearly as well stateside, premiering yesterday to just $4.5 million in 3,003 US theaters!

And it was projected to make somewhere in between $5 and $6.5 million!

Yeesh! Probably doesn't help that reviews haven't been too favorable either!

While his new movie Dark Shadows was predicted to put a dent in the box office of Joss Whedon's record-breaking superhero extravaganza, Tim Burton's horror remake debuted to about $29 million this weekend, while the latter grossed around $103.2 million from Friday to Sunday alone!
