The sculpture was in honor of Plus Day (leap day) which is meant to be a day of extras for your cat!

Once the huge sculpture is taken down, all the cans will be donated to three different cat rescue organizations in El Lay.

Caroline Scheufele, the co-president and artistic director of Chopard designed two custom collars for Uggie.

The first he wore at The Weinstein Company's pre-Oscar party, the second he wore at the actual Academy Awards.

Being a huge dog lover herself, with seven dogs of her own, Scheufele said:

"I was completely charmed by Uggie’s role in The Artist. Knowing that Uggie is a rescue dog, it inspired me to create a unique piece to benefit an important cause."

Uggie's collar, the bow tie he wore to Oscars that was hand made from 18kt yellow gold and satin, will be auctioned off and all proceeds will be donated to The Amanda Foundation.

The Amanda Foundation is a non-profit who rescues dogs and cats from shelters and places them in loving homes.

Such a gorgeous collar being auctioned off for such a good cause.

Everything Uggie touches turns to gold! Even his collar!

LOLz!

27-Pound Monster Lobster Caught!

This is insane.

The average restaurant lobster is 2-3 pounds for a good one, 4-5 pounds if you're lucky and looking to spend a TON of money.

Well, fishermen in Maine caught a 27-pound behemoth!

The lobsters crusher claw is about the size of a human head!

But instead of selling the lobster to a restaurant for an insane amount of money, the fishermen donated it to the Maine State aquarium.

It was the largest the aquarium had ever seen by 4 whole pounds!

The best part? The aquarium released him back into the ocean!!

Yay, happy ending!!!

Camp Bow Wow Brings Shelter Dogs And Military Veterans Together

Many troops coming home from overseas suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

A great service for troops with PTSD is the Freedom Service Dog organization.

They give dogs special training to help troops become accustomed to being at home and help them to reintegrate into society.

Nothing is better than a warm doggy cuddled up next to you when the weigh of the world seems to bear down on your shoulders.

Camp Bow Wow, the nation's largest pet services company, has initiated "Operation Freedom Tail."

The program will raise money for the Freedom Service Dogs, to help shelter dogs as well as veterans.

A director at Freedom Service Dogs said:

"We are excited for Camp Bow Wow to be part of the Freedom Service Dogs program.

It is highly significant to have such an influential pet services company help with this initiative – not only to raise money for training a service dog for a Veteran, but also bring awareness to the program itself."

Julie Marie Berman, the two-time Emmy award winning actress from General Hospital, started an eco-friendly pet products company called, Better Buddies.

Amazingly, fans of General Hospital pooled money to donate pet beds from her company to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, which is the largest no-kill sanctuary in the US, which is awesome!

Julie has a blog that she writes herself and has a whole page chronicling the bed donations.

You can check it out HERE.

If we had more people like Julie, the world would be a much better place for animals.

500 Dogs Up For Adoption After Puppy Mill Rescue

Rescued pup

In Quebec, Canada, the Animal Welfare Authorities shut down a puppy mill long known to be a sub-par facility.

The reason for being shut down was that the dogs’ most basic needs were not being met. So sad!

With the mill shut down, there are now 500+ dogs up for adoption, under the care of the Humane Society International of Canada.

Seeing as how this is one of the largest rescues in the province’s history, they need help.

To help provide food bowls, toys and bedding for those poor doggies, U can donate to the Humane Society HERE.

Though the dogs have been rescued from the mill, the fight isn't over until every pup has a home.
