Army Wives just made television history this week by featuring a lesbian kiss when Captain Nicole returned home from duty and was met with a big fat kiss for her girlfriend.

Not only are we happy that the Lifetime show is featuring a LGBT friendly storyline, but we love the free love flowing since the repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

We like what we see and we can't wait to see MORE representation of the LGBT community on television.

For the first time since Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed, a lesbian couple was chosen by raffle to receive the first-ever same-sex homecoming kiss, which is a ritual done in the Navy every year!

And the lucky winners? Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta, who greeted her fiancée Citlalic Snell - whom she met at boot camp and got involved with secretly until the September repeal - on the pier for the history-making smooch!

Exactly. A simple right that EVERYONE should have.

The repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) was a major step in the right direction…now let's finish the job!

Back in July, we were disgusted to learn that even though DADT was being repealed, gays in the military would still not receive the same benefits for their same-sex partners as straight couples.

Now, the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) is planning to file a lawsuit in federal court by the end of the month, in an effort to secure the same rights/benefits for same-sex couples that are given to straight couples.

The lawsuit will go against the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), and it claims that the "federal Defense of Marriage Act violates the Fifth Amendment right to due process, in what the group says will be the first case of its kind."

We were disgusted to tell you about this when we first heard it, but now we're hearing what else she has to say on it and it boggles our minds.

It's one thing to have disagreeing opinions on fiscal issues, but these opinions suffer equal rights. These opinions hinder American lives, lives who cause no harm.

A vote for Rick Santorum is a vote for homophobia, ignorance and disrespect for our military.

Last night, Santorum was posed a question from a gay solider serving in Iraq about his stance on the Dont' Ask, Don't Tell repeal. True to form, Santorum disgustingly stood there and insulted this solider's bravery and loyalty to his country by insisting that the repeal was a "social extermination" the military is trying out and then asserted he would reinstitute the horrendous policy if he were elected as president.
