Jamie Foxx absolutely adores his sister DeOndra Jones.
He opened up about having a sister with Down Syndrome, “I don’t call it a condition. I just call it living.” He also revealed that she lives with him along with his other sister and his parents. “We’re one big happy family.”
On Saturday night DeOndra participated in a Fashion Show which would benefit the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
Of course Jamie was there to show his support, saying, "this is just so amazing that she gets to do her thing where the spotlight is on her.”
Jamie really enjoyed the event, he said that the message of the event was to be yourself and realize that there is beauty everywhere!
This is a very sweet, we like the softer side of Jamie Foxx!
Ike Ditzenberger is a 17-year-old high school student with Down syndrome. He plays for his high school football team, the Panthers, and during a game against another school, the Vikings, something magical happened.
They let him score a touch down at the end of the game.
The Vikings were ahead 35-0, so they were going to win anyway, and in an act of true kindness, the Panthers quarterback gave the ball to Ike and the Vikings let up enough to let him score a touch down.
Nicole Scherzinger has plans to open a music camp for kid's with special needs, in dedication to her aunt, who has Down syndrome!
"I grew up with my aunt, who is actually younger than me because my grandmother had her at an older age, and she has Down syndrome. She has always had a special place in my heart and is such a wonderful addition to our family, so when Todd asked me if I was passionate about any charities or causes, I immediately thought of her.
I want to bring awareness to how special people with Down syndrome are… I used to tell my girls in the Pussycat Dolls that I would have my own musical camp or school where I would teach people with special disabilities or Down syndrome."
We think all kids, differently abled or not, would benefit from that kind of camp! Music brings all walks of life together!
