Zooey Deschanel Vs. The LA Times

zooey deschanel vs la times

You tell 'em, Zooey!

In yesterday's LA Times opinion column, journalist Patt Morrison spoke out against Zooey Deschanel for saying the following about Downtown L.A. at the BAFTA gala, which was attended by the royal couple:

"I just don't want them to see the worst of L.A."

Here's what Morrison wrote in response:

"I can't believe Zooey Deschanel is really the snobby cow she came off sounding like Saturday evening."

"I cannot apologize enough to Ms. Deschanel that in some places, the sidewalks do not smell like Jo Malone candles."

When Zooey read Morrison's column, she took to her website to fight the comments. She claims that the quote Morrison took issue with was "taken completely out of context," and that it was meant to be funny.

More from Zooey:

"You also open your piece by calling me a 'cow', which might be your opinion, but I wish a journalist for the Los Angeles Times and KPCC had found a more sophisticated way of sharing a difference in perceived opinion."

Yeah, we're def on Team Deschanel here! It's clear that her comment was innocent enough, and calling her a "snobby cow" was very immature and inappropriate.

Who do U side with here? Zooey or LA Times' Patt Morrison?

Oksana And Her Lawyer Give Press Conference

Check out the video (above) to see Oksana and her lawyer give a press conference outside the Downtown L.A. Courthouse.

They're claiming that Oksana should be allowed to retain her computer and not have it searched without reason.

They also reiterate their statement that Oksana never made any attempt at extortion.

What do U think? Did Oksana ever try to extort money from Mel? Should her computer be allowed to be searched?

Jon Stewart's Rally To Restore Sanity Coming To Los Angeles…Via Satellite

jon stewarts rally to restore sanity coming to los angeles via satellite

Those of us in Los Angeles who were seriously considering making the cross-country trip to Washington D.C. will now only have to travel downtown…a slightly more cost effective journey.

Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity will be broadcast at the Levitt Pavilion at MacArthur Park in downtown L.A. via satellite on Oct. 30.

The organizers of the Los Angeles version of the event, Amy Lee and Ashley Wright, are currently looking to secure comedians and entertainers for the three-hour rally. Here's what Lee had to say about it:

"We want Los Angeles to come out and represent as strongly as possible. We are looking for personalities — anybody who wants to come out and represent sanity in Los Angeles."

The Rally to Restore Sanity will be countered by Stephen Colbert's March to Keep Fear Alive. Sounds HIGHlarious!

Looks like there are many other satellite rallies in the works as well, in locations that include Seattle and Chicago.

We're SO pumped!

Will U be attending the rally or one of the satellite rallies?
