L.A. Reid Accused Of Sexual Harassment Amid His Sudden Departure From Sony Music!

We still might not know where Dr. Luke stands with Sony Music, but it looks like the label isn't as hesitant to cut ties with other veteran producers.

Last week, the company announced that Epic Records chairman and CEO L.A. Reid was leaving Sony after six years.

Now, the reason behind his abrupt exit is coming to light: Reid has been accused of sexual harassment by a female assistant at Epic.

The New York Post reports that the accuser, represented by an attorney, submitted a letter to Sony detailing alleged inappropriate behavior by the industry veteran.

Multiple outlets have confirmed that the letter exists, and have discovered there have been "multiple" claims made against the record head who helped launch the careers of Meghan Trainor and Fifth Harmony.

But unlike its situation with Dr. Luke, the company isn't letting industry success excuse inappropriate behavior in the workplace. A source familiar with the X Factor host's ouster told The Post:

Dr. Luke's Rep Says The Music Producer & Sony 'Are Not Cutting Ties' — Well Then, What IS Going On??

dr luke not ousted from sony

Dr. Luke (born Lukasz Gottwald) hasn't been fully ousted from Sony after all.

As we previously reported, the music company supposedly dropped the producer as CEO of Kemosabe Records — a record label Gottwald established with Sony back in 2011.

While many believed this demotion meant the industry vet would no longer have a working relationship with the media conglomerate, his rep has since defended that the 43-year-old is still professionally connected to Sony.

Dr. Luke's spokesperson told The Los Angeles Times:

"This is wrong, they are not cutting ties."

Well, well. We wonder what Kesha will have to say about this?? In case you forgot, the pop starlet has been trapped in a legal battle with the hitmaker since 2014 after she accused him of abuse.

We guess we'll just have to wait and see if Sony tries to clarify this incredibly confusing situation.

Dr. Luke Has Been Dropped By Sony!

Dr. Luke has been dropped by Sony.

Well, this is certainly interesting.

Dr. Luke has been dropped by Sony, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The producer is also no longer the CEO of Kemosabe Records, which he established with Sony in 2011. Furthermore, Sony has stated that Luke "no longer has authority to act on its behalf."

Even though this might seem like good news for Kesha, we're not sure that it actually nullifies her contract with the producer. It sounds like Dr. Luke is still the only one who can break that contract with her.

Moreover, in her court papers, the Tik Tok singer previously told the judge that Sony and Dr. Luke's relationship was about to come to an end, and that things would be worse for her once she no longer had the music giant behind her to act as a "go-between."

Complicating matters further is the fact that the music producer still has a pending defamation lawsuit against her, and his lawyers are in the process of gathering evidence that proves his career has suffered greatly due to Kesha's rape allegations. Being dropped by Sony might be another thing they can use against her.

We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

Kesha's case against Dr. Luke, AKA Lukasz Gottwald, has been dealt one of the most savage legal blows since it began, certainly since she was denied an injunction last year.

The Timber singer is trying to get out of her contract legally after claiming her former producer raped her. But so far all she's gotten is sued by Gottwald for trying to ruin his name with the allegations.

Kesha previously tried to get out of her contract by describing her alleged rape as a hate crime on the part of Dr. Luke — but that was rebuffed.

This time, she attempted to amend her countersuit against the producer, trying two new tactics to argue her case.

In the first, she argued recording artists should have a legal backdoor available to them, like divorce for married couples. Her argument went:

Dr. Luke Is Now Coming After The Kesha Fan Who Organized Last Year's #FreeKesha Protests

The ongoing court drama going down between Dr. Luke and Kesha just took a very interesting turn.

On Friday, court documents were released that show how Dr. Luke — the writer/producer born as Lukasz Gottwald — has moved to subpoena Michael Eisele in regards to the ongoing, dueling lawsuits between the music makers.

And if you don't know the name Michael Eisele, well, perhaps you know of the @KeshaToday Twitter account, which Eisele runs and used in an instrumental way for last year's #FreeKesha protests on social media.

Now, Dr. Luke's subpoena is suspicious that Eisele's #FreeKesha work was "closely coordinated" with Kesha herself, the end issue being that

Dr. Luke Responds To Kesha's 'Out Of Context' Emails With Documents Of His Own — Where He Looks A Lot Less Villainous!

This isn't even close to being over…

In the latest news from Kesha and Dr. Luke's FX miniseries-worthy legal battle, the music producer's team filed documents in response to the emails released by Kesha's team last week.

These documents include email chains between the producer (aka Lukasz Gottwald), Kesha's managers, and her assistant.

And unlike the "out of context" emails the Tik Tok singer's team leaked last week, the fuller picture doesn't always paint the Kemosabe Records founder as the bad guy.

The emails, which range in date from 2010 to 2016, show discussions about Kesha's diet and appearance between her manager Monica Cornia and her assistant Tessa Schonder — in which the two note they should keep "junk food" away from the singer.

This shifts some of the blame off Luke, who in last week's documents was painted as the only one who spoke about her weight.

Kesha's emails also hinted at a dispute over her song lyrics for Crazy Kids, in which her manager alleged that Luke told the performer:

Dr. Luke Says Kesha Still Owes Him Money — $1.3 Million To Be Exact!

The drama is far from over.

This situation only gets messier and messier.

As we previously reported, Kesha and Dr. Luke AKA Lukasz Gottwald went head-to-head with new court documents in the music producer's defamation lawsuit against the songstress.

Most recently, the Tik Tok artist claimed he wasn't allowing her to release new music despite handing over twenty new songs!

In response, Luke has decided to claim to a New York judge that Kesha has actually failed to pay him over a million dollars in royalties. On Monday, his legal team, Christine Lepera and Jeffrey Movit, presented more details of their contract:

"Plaintiffs have paid Kesha her royalties for all relevant accounting periods, while Kesha baselessly refuses to pay Plaintiffs the much larger sums she owes them. In December 2016 alone, Defendant received payments under her contracts with Plaintiffs in excess of $650,000. In sharp contrast, Defendant admits that she owes Plaintiff KMI over $1.3 million in ancillary royalties that she has failed to pay."

While the 29-year-old isn't making new music, she did agree to pay his company, Kasz Money, 10 percent of her net receipts anytime someone uses her name or likeness. She also has to pay him "the greater of 10 percent of her net tour receipts or 5 percent of adjusted gross tour receipts".

And if you count her Coachella appearance last year, the singer apparently has yet to do so.

Luke's team also claims he has in no way interfered with Kesha recording new music:
