Bald Eagles Mysteriously Dying In Utah!!

Bald Eagles mysteriously dying off in Utah!

In Utah, bald eagles are getting sick and dying and no one knows why!

So far, at least 16 eagles have died since the beginning of this month alone!

That's so awful!

Of those dead birds, half were found already dead and the others died or were euthanized while in the care of wildlife officials.

Thankfully, a lab in Madison, Wisconsin is doing blood and toxicology work to try and find out what's going on. Sadly, there won't be any results for a few weeks.

The problem is, because officials have no idea what's going on, they have no clue as to how to treat or prevent it.

The symptoms are pretty scary. The birds have weakness in their legs, then one leg goes paralyzed, followed by the other. After that the birds get head tremors and eventually seizures. They die in about three or four days.

Wildlife officials are now advising people not to touch the birds should they see one and to instead contact the Division of Wildlife Resources.

This is kinda way scary! We hope this isn't an Outbreak style scenario!

It was filmed in the Chamonix valley of France's Mer de Glace annnnnnd we're just gonna overlook that fact.

USA! USA! USA!

So do you wanna see what it's like to fly like an eagle??

U.S. Government Steps In To Protect Bees!!

The U.S. Government is stepping in to protect bees!

This nation's bees are dying and no one was doing anything to help them…

Until the U.S. government came riding in on a bald eagle, an American flag waving in the wind behind them.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is stepping in to make sure warning labels are placed on common neonictinoid pesticides.

Those specific types of pesticides are detrimental to bees and can cause Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD).

CCD is basically when worker bees just start disappearing from a hive for no reason.

Without a work force, the hive can't survive, and so the colony collapses.

Bees are responsible for pollinating about $30 BILLION worth of crops every year! That's a third of the food we consume!!

We had no idea that bees were THAT integral to our daily lives! This is really a big deal!!

C'mon, government! Let's save those bees!!

Prince Charles Comes Face To Face With Zephyr The Eagle!

prince charles holds zephyr the eagle at the annual flower show

You’d think a flower show would be free from danger but not this one!

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall made the rounds at the Sandringham Flower Show on Monday, and Charles got a little treat.

Zephyr the eagle was waiting near the end of their tour, and like the brave man he is, Prince Charles put on a glove and held the over 10lb bird of prey.

And he was smiling while he did it!

No fear here, despite the fact that the wings almost hit Charles at one point.

Scary!

The lesson learned is that even when visiting something as innocent as a flower show, you can still stare a bird of prey in the eyes.

Baby Bald Eagles Ruin Seattle's July 4th Fireworks

Baby Bald Eagles

Seattle's July 4th fireworks show is going to have to make some adjustments because of some very cute, fragile little critters.

There's a pair of cute, baby bald eagles nesting in a tree near the shore of Lake Washington, where a floating launch pad normally holds the massive amount of fireworks used in the grand celebration.

This year, the barge is going to be moved about 350 yards away from the nest, so there's less of a chance of disturbing the bald eagles.

The problem is the babies are only six to eight weeks old, so they can't fly yet.
