The breast milk of about 10,000 mothers living in Fukushima Prefecture, home to the debilitated Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, will be tested for radioactive contimation.

Details have yet to be finalized, but officials are working out a plan to obtain the breast milk samples from new mothers in the region. The cost will is said to be about ¥50,000 per person.

Last May and June, just months after the Japanese earthquake an tsunami, traces of radioactive cesium in the breast milk of 7 in 21 mothers were found.

So, so sad! Japanese is still dealing with such life-threatening effects of the disaster that occurred in March 2011.

Here's hoping that the government finds a way to help these mothers and their newborns.

Foo Fighters Make The Earth Move In New Zealand

foo-fighters1.jpg

That's not a pun. They actually caused tremors with their rockin' music!

According to two seismic stations outside the Western Springs stadium, during the Foo Fighter's Monday night show in Auckland, New Zealand, a strong low frequency of tremors were detected at the time of the show. The tremors actually corresponded to the highs and lows of the band's performance, with the levels reaching the same frequency of volcanic activity.

Whoa! Fire! LAVA FIRE! That's definitely something for Dave Grohl to blog about!

That sure as hell has to be more motivation to make their upcoming album!

Arcade Fire Matching Donations To Haiti Charity For The Holidays

Arcade Fire Haiti Donations

If you're trying to think of a good gift this year, the Arcade Fire is recommending giving their money to Haiti!

The band, who won a Grammy last year for Album of the Year, is matching any donations to Kanpe, a charity dedicated to helping Haiti's most "vulnerable populations in their fight for a better future."

Frontman Win Butler announced the fundraiser on the band's website, writing:

"If you are having a hard time deciding what to get your friends and family for gifts this year, give them our money! For any donation you make to Kanpe this holiday season, the band will match it. We will also send a nifty little post card, signed by Regine and I, to put under the tree, or wherever you put your gifts (it’s not our business). For any silicone valley jerks who might try to bankrupt us, let’s put the upper limit at 300,000$… Have a great holiday!"

We're sure every little bit helps and what Arcade Fire fan wouldn't want a personal post card from their favorite band?

Click here to donate and here to learn more about the cause you'll be helping!
