Carnie Wilson Graciously Accepts Fresh Diet's Free Meals

Carnie Wilson Fresh diet

On Monday we reported that Fresh Diet had extended an offer to former spokesperson Carnie Wilson for 6 months of free meals for her entire family in light of the news about her financial difficulty.

Today, we're happy to report that the Wilson Phillips singer has graciously accepted the diet company's offer on behalf of her family and herself.

Not only is she touched by the company's generosity, but seems eager to begin eating healthy again, saying:

"I'm overwhelmed with gratitude and deeply want to return to The Fresh Diet for my health and the health of my family."

Carnie was the face of the diet delivery service from February until November of 2010, but was released from contract after she gained weight by neglecting the Fresh Diet.

Currently, the singer's El Lay home is facing foreclosure unless she can pay off the remaining $1.7 million on her mortgage.

We're so sorry to hear about her tough economic situation, but at least she won't have to deal with the stress of picking and choosing healthy meals while she figures out her finances because they'll all be delivered — for FREE!

Justin Bieber Is Buffing Up!

Justin Bieber Buffing Up

Justin Bieber is hitting the gym hard these days in hopes of adding some "ripped abs, bulging biceps, and cut thighs" onto his 5' 5", 130 pound frame.

The 17-year-old teen sensation is eating healthy and working out with his very own personal trainer Jordan Yuam, the same professional trainer who handled Twilight's Taylor Lautner.

Despite being incredibly busy, Justin still finds time to workout as much as possible. A source explains:

"Since Justin is often on the road, he and Jordan connect for supervised workouts online through iChat or Skype."

Aiming to bulk up, Justin is sticking to a healthy "high-protein" diet by consuming good fats from nuts and avocados, as well as protein shakes.

Based on the Bieb's dedication and his trainer's results with Taylor, we may be seeing a buffer Bieber soon!

Rachael Ray Talks Childhood Nutrition

Rachel Ray nutrition

During an interview at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, childhood nutrition advocate Rachael Ray applauded the recent government bill that will regulate nutritional guidelines in school lunches, but says don't wait for a law to make a change, explaining:

"You don't have to wait for them to make a law, you can make changes in your own school by just going in there and telling them you care."

More importantly, the issue of childhood obesity may be better tackled at home with parents taking small steps to encourage healthy eating by starting with a conversation, not a lecture. Rachael advises:

"As long as you don't insult someone and start with a conversation instead of a lecture, it's really easy to find people who are willing to make small changes. Finger wagging turns everyone off."

Such great advice! Stop demanding that children eat their vegetables and start explaining why they should.

Rachael recalled her trip to Washington where she lobbied Congress to improve the nutritional value of school lunches by providing reimbursement to schools who followed federal nutritional guidelines.

She is pleasantly surprised that members of Congress listened to her advice, but criticized those who oppose the bill, saying:

"How could you criticize the idea of children playing in the sunshine and eating healthy food? I don't know any one person in my broad or tight circle that agrees with any of that."

She also responded to those worried about the new bill's impact on our countries heavy debt by pointing out that the obese children of today will be generating costly medical bills years into the future. She even calls their thought process "childish", saying:

"They can't see that debt yet, so they're not going to do anything about it, it doesn't exist. It's really childish, ironically."

Although Rachael has been a lifelong healthy eater, she hasn't always been keen on exercising. In fact, she didn't start running until she was 40, as she explains:

"When I started running, I felt like I wasted 20 years of my adult life. It makes such an emotional difference, and such a huge difference in your clarity of thought to vigorously exercise on a regular basis."

It totally does! See people, it's never too late to experience the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of a healthy lifestyle!

Not good!

According to a new study by the Institute of Education, girls are more likely to be overweight than boys by the age of seven!

The statistics show that nearly one in four girls are overweight by that age, compared to one in six boys!

Those are eating habits that will follow them through the rest of their lives if we don't try and stop it now!
