Bethenny Frankel Explains Why She's Raising Her Baby As A Vegetarian

Bethenny Frankel Vegetarian Baby

Bethenny Frankel is no stranger to cooking and eating healthy.

Though, the mostly vegetarian mom has decided to raise her daughter Bryn as a vegetarian — a personal choice that she feels like is health conscious regardless of the fact that she herself partakes in meat. She reveals:

'I eat almost everything, but I eat a mostly vegetarian diet. However, I occasionally eat meat if I’m really craving it or if there is literally nothing else around, but I’m fortunate to love vegetables, grains and all things healthy,' she writes, before adding that she still gives the baby dairy products.

'I chose not to have her be vegan because I believe she needs the fat and protein in milk, and sometimes I need her to fill up on organic cheese. Her health comes first. Also, if she didn’t eat so many beans and good proteins, I might change this approach.'

Yeah, our only qualms with this is making sure she's getting what she needs at such a crucial growth period in her life. But we're sure that Bethenny is on top of that!

Hope Bryn is doing well!

For anyone who has ever used the excuse that eating healthy is too expensive, here are 10 super cheap and super healthy foods that will fit into any budget !

The vitamins, minerals, and health-enhancing antioxidants like fiber, calcium, and omega-3 fatty acids found in Kale help get rid of harmful compounds though to cause serious illnesses like cancer and heart disease. At 60 cents a cup, you can afford to be cautious!

Sweet Potatoes:

At 43 cents a serving and high concentration of beta carotene, sweet potatoes are an incredibly cheap beauty product! Beta carotene has not only shown to help every cell in the body stay healthy, but also neutralizes wrinkle and reduces skin damaged from the sun by helping to generate new skin cells. The potato is also packed with fiber and energizing B-vitamins.

Dried Cranberries:

Dried cranberries rank among the highest antioxidant contents of any fruit, which means they may help reduce cancer and heart disease risk, plus prevent urinary tract infections! All that for a couple quarters a cup? Eat them as a snack or mix them into salads or cereals for a healthier meal!

Low-Fat Milk:

One eight-ounce glass of milk, which costs about 25 cents, is chock-full of nine essential nutrients, many of which most of us fall short, including bone-building calcium, heart-healthy potassium, and vitamin D.

Pinto Beans:

Costing just 13 cents a cup, pinto beans are a great addition to any chili and boast the highest antioxidant count of all beans! They’re also loaded with protein, fiber, and B vitamins!

Eggs are only 70 calories and cost less than a gum ball! At about 20 cents each they're one of the healthiest bargains around. Not only are they loaded with protein and antioxidants, eggs are a top dietary source of a vitamin called choline, which has been shown to promote brain health.

Black Tea:

Black tea only costs a nickel a bag and is worth every penny. The cheap beverage contains protective compounds called flavanoids that neutralize health-damaging particles called free-radicals, which help the health of every cell in our bodies.

Simple rolled oats are packed with essential minerals like immune-boosting zinc, magnesium, and iron as well as those flavanoids we mentioned above. Oh yeah, and fiber…lots and lots of fiber.

Canned Salmon:

Canned salmon may not be as appealing as fresh salmon, but if provides all of those healthy benefits you may have seen us writing about before. A 4 oz. portion of salmon provides a day's worth of omega-3 fatty acids, plus your daily dose of Vitamin D.

Carnie Wilson Graciously Accepts Fresh Diet's Free Meals

Carnie Wilson Fresh diet

On Monday we reported that Fresh Diet had extended an offer to former spokesperson Carnie Wilson for 6 months of free meals for her entire family in light of the news about her financial difficulty.

Today, we're happy to report that the Wilson Phillips singer has graciously accepted the diet company's offer on behalf of her family and herself.

Not only is she touched by the company's generosity, but seems eager to begin eating healthy again, saying:

"I'm overwhelmed with gratitude and deeply want to return to The Fresh Diet for my health and the health of my family."

Carnie was the face of the diet delivery service from February until November of 2010, but was released from contract after she gained weight by neglecting the Fresh Diet.

Currently, the singer's El Lay home is facing foreclosure unless she can pay off the remaining $1.7 million on her mortgage.

We're so sorry to hear about her tough economic situation, but at least she won't have to deal with the stress of picking and choosing healthy meals while she figures out her finances because they'll all be delivered — for FREE!

Justin Bieber Buffing Up

Justin Bieber is hitting the gym hard these days in hopes of adding some "ripped abs, bulging biceps, and cut thighs" onto his 5' 5", 130 pound frame.

The 17-year-old teen sensation is eating healthy and working out with his very own personal trainer Jordan Yuam, the same professional trainer who handled Twilight's Taylor Lautner.

Despite being incredibly busy, Justin still finds time to workout as much as possible. A source explains:

"Since Justin is often on the road, he and Jordan connect for supervised workouts online through iChat or Skype."

Aiming to bulk up, Justin is sticking to a healthy "high-protein" diet by consuming good fats from nuts and avocados, as well as protein shakes.

Based on the Bieb's dedication and his trainer's results with Taylor, we may be seeing a buffer Bieber soon!
