frozen elsa let it go snowflakes(1)

It's hard to imagine a Disney film being any different or any less than what we experience in the theaters, but like any collaboration, great things sometimes have smaller beginnings!

Needless to say, most of our most cherished animated films from the Mouse House had early concepts and ideas that were drastically different from the final version!

Take for instance, Frozen! In an earlier draft, Elsa was supposed to be the villain of the film!

While you let that go, we've compiled some other major rewrites done on Disney films for all you Disneyophiles out there!

katy perry dark horse video censored edited religious controversy muslim symbol removed

Katy Perry clearly offended a LOT of people with her Dark Horse video.

After a Muslim viewer pointed out that a man gets melted into sand while wearing an "Allah" pendant, over 60,000 people signed a petition to BAN the music video from YouTube!

In its first week, the video has already gotten over 38 MILLION views, so obvi Katy didn't want to remove the video entirely. But she proved she didn't mean any harm by quickly editing out the offending symbol. The guy still gets melted.

Original Muslim petitioner Shazad Iqbal was pleased with the compromise. He wrote:

The 'N Word' To Be Edited Out Of New Edition Of Huckleberry Finn

adventures-of-huckleberry-finn.jpg

This will certainly stir up some controversy.

The new edition Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn will remove all references to the "N" word and replace it with the word "slave." The word "Injun" will also be removed from the novel.

Twain expert Alan Gribben, who spearheaded the change, says his version is not a way of "neutering" the classic book, but just rather updating it. He says, "Race matters in these books. It’s a matter of how you express that in the 21st century."

We're not sure if censoring the words is the best idea to teach children about classic literature and even more importantly, American history.

What do U think?

WTF PBS?!?!? Tina Fey Censored!

Filed under: TV NewsPolitikAwardzTina FeySarah Palin

pbs edits tina fey broadcast

Not cool, PBS. Seriously.

PBS aired a broadcast of Tina Fey's acceptance of her Mark Twain award at the Kennedy Center, but they edited her speech!

During the speech, Tina Fey said the following about Sarah Palin, which was edited out of the broadcast:

"And, you know, politics aside, the success of Sarah Palin and women like her is good for all women - except, of course –those who will end up, you know, like, paying for their own rape 'kit 'n' stuff, but for everybody else, it's a win-win. Unless you're a gay woman who wants to marry your partner of 20 years - whatever. But for most women, the success of conservative women is good for all of us. Unless you believe in evolution. You know - actually, I take it back. The whole thing's a disaster."

Here's what was included in the broadcast as far as Tina's Palin-related comments are concerned:

"I would be a liar and an idiot if I didn't thank Sarah Palin for helping get me here tonight. My partial resemblance and her crazy voice are the two luckiest things that ever happened to me. All kidding aside, I'm so proud to represent American humor, I am proud to be an American, and I am proud to make my home in the 'not real' America. And I am most proud that during trying times, like an orange [terror] alert, a bad economy or a contentious election that we as a nation retain our sense of humor."

Here's what an executive producer on the show, Peter Kaminsky, had to say about the edited broadcast:

"It was not a political decision. We had zero problems with anything she said."

More from Kaminsky:

“We took a lot out. We snipped from everyone."

You SAY you snipped from everyone, but it's shady inneresting that comments Tina Fey made about Palin that could be viewed as positive ones were kept in the broadcast.

Smells a little political to us, PBS. Just sayin'!

What do U think about the edits done to Tina Fey's broadcast? "Time Restraints" or Political?
