This Waitress Got Over $10,000 From One Generously Tipping Couple — And Now She's Going Back To School!

A little friendly conversation can make a big difference.

That's what Cayla Chandara learned after getting a 200% tip — and then some! — at her restaurant job last week.

The Hawaiian waitress was chatting with a friendly Australian couple at the Waikiki Thai restaurant where she works, and eventually admitted that her 80-hour work weeks and student loan debt were preventing her from continuing her education.

This real talk must have struck a chord with the affable Aussies, because on top of the couple's $200 tab, Chandara realized they left her a $400 tip!

The 22-year-old was shocked by the generous tip, and set out to find the patrons because she "had to say thank you." After thanking them at their hotel, Chandara sent them a thank-you card, dessert, and flowers.

But the next day, the generous customers returned with an even bigger surprise — they offered to pay off the waitress's student loans of over $10,000! Holy shit!!!

Chandara initially declined, but eventually accepted because… duh. When she asked how she could repay them, the couple texted her to "be your best possible self dream big and strive for your goals."

And that's exactly what the server plans on doing when she goes back to study liberal arts and business. Make those generous strangers proud, girl!

Julianne Moore is putting her foot down!

Recently, the actress — along with friend and producer Bruce Cohen — created a change.org petition to rename their alma mater — J.E.B. Stuart High School — in Fairfax County, VA.

The school — founded in 1959 — was named after the Confederate general who fought to keep African Americans enslaved.

According to their petition, which has already racked up over 29,000 signatures:

"No one should have to apologize for the name of the public high school you attended and the history of racism it represents, as we and so many alumni of Stuart have felt the need to do our whole lives."

The moniker is only made worse by the school's symbol: an image of Stuart waving the Confederate flag atop a horse.

Instead, the Oscar winner believes her education center should be named after civil rights leader and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
