Heartbroken Parents Respond After Video Surfaces Of School Bus Aide Slapping Their 6-Year-Old Autistic Daughter

no title

This is so upsetting!

Video has surfaced of a six-year-old girl with autism screaming after being slapped twice by a bus aide on her way to school in New Lenox, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.

Understandably, distraught dad Nicholas Rushing is outraged that his "nonverbal" daughter Kayle had to go through that terrible experience — and he's worried this might not be the first time something like this has happened.

May the Fourth be with — oh crap.

Star Wars Day isn't usually a school holiday, but the students at Ashwaubenon High School got at least a partial day off — when they were evacuated!

After a worried parent called police to report a man walking into the Wisconsin school wearing black clothes and a mask, Ashwaubenon Public Safety officers arrived and swept the school.

Thankfully it turned out to be just a kid in a Darth Vader costume! In a post to parents on Facebook the school district explained:

"There was no legitimate threat at AHS today. It was a misunderstanding where a student wore a Star Wars costume for 'May the Fourth Be With You' day. There was no intent of a threat, but the student will be held accountable."

Accountable for what? Well, we guess with no warning ahead of time, the image of a Sith Lord stalking the high school could be pretty intense. Just ask these guys…

And the hits keep coming.

As you know, our President Donald Trump (vom) proved he's far from a history buff after his recent comments on Andrew Jackson and the maybe-alive Frederick Douglass — and now it turns out his golf course in Virginia even commemorates a Civil War battle that NEVER happened!

We truly can't make this stuff up.

Wow, Donald Trump must really hate women.

On Monday, it was revealed that the Trump administration is officially discontinuing the girls' education program set up by Michelle Obama during her tenure as First Lady. How awful!

Back in 2015, Let Girls Learn was launched in order to help facilitate educational opportunities for young girls in developing nations. However, according to an internal document obtained by CNN, LGL is ceasing operation immediately. Apparently, some aspects from the program will remain, but employees for the initiative have been ordered to stop referring to the organization as Let Girls Learn.

Now that he's president, Donald Trump is asking all the questions people have been too afraid to ask.

Like… why was there a Civil War?

No, really. POTUS actually asked that question — like it was something people had never thought to explore — in a recent interview with the Washington Examiner.

Selena Gomez Responds To 13 Reasons Why Suicide Controversy

no title

13 Reasons Why is Netflix's newest hit — but also maybe its most controversial ever.

The story of a teenage girl's suicide has been alternately praised for its unflinching look at the very real factors that lead teens to self harm AND blasted for glorifying suicidal behavior.

Canadian schools have warned parents of its graphic content and banned teachers from discussing it with their students. Paris Jackson called the show "extremely triggering."

So what does exec producer Selena Gomez think of all this controversy? It's pretty much what she was going for. She told the AP:

"We stayed very true to the book and that's initially what Jay Asher created, was a beautifully tragic, complicated yet suspenseful story, and I think that's what we wanted to do. We wanted to do it justice and, yeah, that's going to come no matter what. It's not an easy subject to talk about, but I'm very fortunate with how it's doing. I'm overwhelmed. I'm very proud of it."

Whatever your reaction to the show, it is getting a lot more people to talk about the problem of teen suicide.

What do YOU think of 13 Reasons Why??
