Larissa Martinez is the valedictorian at her Texas high school with a 4.95 GPA, who also happens to be an illegal immigrant!
At her June 3 graduation, the 18-year-old used her speech to reveal to her class that she is "one of the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the shadows of the United States."
The McKinney Boyd High School graduate explained that she, her mother, and her sister left an abusive and alcoholic father in Mexico City when she was just 11 years old.

The teen and her family arrived in the US on tourist visas in 2010. Now, Martinez has accepted a full scholarship to Yale University and wants to become a neurosurgeon.

Wow, Channing Tatum is totally slaying this Hollywood heartthrob thing!
According to Harvard Business School's Facebook page, Channing is now an official student at the prestigious institution and is enrolled in one of the university's Executive Education courses.

Considering the actor admitted to struggling with ADHD and schooling issues in the past, this is a BIG achievement. It's also nice to see a celeb bettering themselves… Channing should give Harvard alum Natalie Portman a ring!
In the fancy course taught by Professor Anita Elberse, the poppa will learn how to execute "proven approaches for marketing creative products and portfolios, managing and marketing talent, determining when to make smaller versus blockbuster bets, and identifying and capitalizing on market disruptions".
The gorgeous guy, along with fellow famous classmates like LL Cool J, will mostly focus on how to become a top innovator in the film industry. Hmm, we guess Magic Mike really inspired Tatum to take his career a step further… LOLz!

Who needs SATs when you have internet fame!?
Ever since Candace Payne recorded a video of herself hysterically laughing while wearing a Chewbacca mask, things have been going pretty well for "Chewbacca Mom."
After her video broke Facebook Live's viewing record, the mom received free Star Wars swag from Kohl's, and even got to carpool with J.J. Abrams and James Corden!
But it looks like putting on that darn Chewbacca mask is still paying off BIG TIME — because Payne just received full scholarships at a Florida university for her entire family!

Southeastern University announced that Payne, along with her husband and two children, can all attend the university for free!
The Texas native was presented with full tuition scholarships while visiting the campus during her family vacation in Florida. University president Kent Ingle said in a press release:

A Texas middle school teacher accused of sexually abusing a student has turned herself into authorities.
Alexandria Vera was an English teacher at Aldine ISD's Stovall Middle School who reportedly fell in love with one of the students in her 8th grade English class last summer — and even got pregnant with his child.
According to reports, Vera met the 13-year-old boy in summer school, and a sexual relationship developed sometime after.

The 24-year-old educator claims that she and the young teen are in love, and has been introduced to his family as his girlfriend.

UPDATE 3:14 P.M. EST The LAPD Chief Charlie Beck has confirmed that the shooting was a murder-suicide that left two males dead. Beck also said the situation is "currently contained" and there is "no continuing threat to UCLA's campus."
UPDATE 2:49 P.M. EST: The Police Chief at UCLA has said that it's possible one of the two people killed could have been the gunman.
UPDATE 2:21 P.M. EST: Police have confirmed there are two dead from the campus shooting. Authorities are still sweeping the Engineering IV building for the shooter.

At about 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning, reports came in of a shooting on UCLA's college campus in Boelter Hall!
As a result, the police were called and the University was put on a campus wide lock down while authorities investigated and found two victims had been shot.
The school took to Twitter to help update students on the terrifying events, tweeting out:

Oh, the irony!
You can't be a Twitter troll these days without knowing what you're getting into first.
That's what user Kyle Chapman learned the hard way when he tried to make fun of the Scripps National Spelling Bee… WITHOUT checking his tweet for any mistakes.
During Thursday's broadcast (where Jairam Hathwar and Nihar Janga were eventually declared co-champions), Chapman decided to rag on the event for using a "Comfort Couch" — which is where the kid contestants go to sit and collect themselves after they lost.

The user made fun of the couch because he thought it was encouraging the contestants to lose, not understanding the couch is there to provide a brief moment of comfort in a high pressure situation for those kids who probably had stress dreams about this competition for months.
But in his attempt to blast the competition, the troll made one crucial error — a GRAMMATICAL error — and the NSB's official Twitter account swiftly shut him down:
