Don't cross Stephen Colbert!
The satirist extraordinaire had booked a rare TV performance by Daft Punk for his StePhest Colbchella music festival, but the band had to pull out at the last minute.
According to Stephen, the electronica duo aren't allowed to perform anywhere other than MTV because they're booked for a surprise performance at the VMAs!
Stephen got his revenge on Tuesday night's Colbert Report by revealing MTV's "deeply guarded secret" and bitterly naming names of network honchos that cost him his guest.

Skrillex's lover-lass and electronapop sweetheart Ellie Goulding zaps our emotional CORE in her new musical video for sonically-stuccato song Hanging On.

At a Swiss amusement park, two dolphins died recently, after a loud techno party took place only a few yards away.
The dolphins were subjected to 16 hours of loud, thumping electronic music. Animal activists say this type of music can stress dolphins out so much that they drop dead.
And that's what they're claiming happened. An 8-year-old dolphin died 20 days after the party. Then another, 30-year-old, dolphin died soon after.
No one is sure if the techno actually lead to the death of the marine mammals, and Connyland, the amusement park, would be the first to deny it, having said on their website:

That's why they are reportedly launching a new division specifically geared towards the sub-genre!
Live Nation has taken notice of the fact that electronica and dance festivals, like the Electric Daisy Carnival and Monster Madness, have really started to take off. In an effort to keep with the times, the company is looking to expand their market and has plans to introduce Electronic Nation later this year. Here, fans of electronica will find listings and tickets for all their favorite festivals and connect with other fans.
The details of the new website/division are being kept very hush-hush, but we're on board just with the concept. It might lose electronica is "sub-genre" rep, but maybe its about time for it to rise above!
How does Electronic Nation sound to U?
