Well that didn't take them very long.
Gucci has filed a lawsuit against Elisabetta Gucci, great-granddaughter to the fashion house's founder Guccio Gucci, after announcing she is opening a chain of hotels with the famous last name attached.
The fashion label is "seeking injunctive relief in order to protect its rights" and wants to "make clear that it has no relationship to Elisabetta Gucci Hotels and that it is not involved in any project whatsoever with Elisabetta Gucci Hotels".
The managing director of the hotels fired back saying:
"She cannot cancel her name or her background. If she has a famous name or a famous background, that's not her fault and we are not trying to use it as much."
While they make a valid point, we doubt anyone would have said a word about the new hotel if the Gucci name wasn't associated with it.
