Elle France has found themselves in the midst of a controversy thanks to Nathalie Dolivo's racist article titled Black Fashion Power.
To make a long story short, Dolivo praises Michelle Obama's chic style and credits FLOTUS for giving the black community a reason to dress up in non-streetwear clothes.

Carey Mulligan's Elle France cover was SO last year. No really, it was.
In an odd move, the French mag decided to use Carey's 2010 Vogue cover for their November issue.
It really doesn't make any sense why they would use such an old photo that's already been published especially when French Elle isn't a Conde Nast title.
The only plausible explanation, at least according to some super sleuths, is photographer Peter Lindbergh owns the rights to the photo and sold it to Elle.
