We've got some good news and some bad news about Chris Meloni, your beloved tough love cop from Law & Order: SVU.
Bad news is that he is still making his exit from the show this season. Sad, but true. However, unlike several previous reports have suggest, Det. Stabler will NOT be killed off when the show returns in the fall. That leaves the door wide open for Meloni to return should he want to.
So, GOOD NEWS!

Well this will certainly dull the pain of our precious Stabler's exit!
In light of the news that Christopher Meloni will not be returning to Law & Order: Special Victim Unit's upcoming 13th, we're thrilled to announce that not one, but TWO of our favorite ADAs will be returning - both Stephanie March, who plays Alex Cabot, and Diane Neal, who plays Casey Novak!
According to a spokesperson from the series, the pair will be back for "an undetermined number of episodes."
Oh man! We love them!
IT'S ABOUT TIME!
Fingers crossed that they'll be sticking around for a while! None of the other ladies have ever been able to hold a candle to either of those badasses!
What do U think?? Are U excited for Cabot and Novak to return?

We'll be VERY curious to see if these two will be able to replace the magic between the two leads that made this show so great to begin with!
As we've reported, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as we know it will be gone forever after its upcoming thirteenth season, as Christopher Meloni has left the police procedural, and Mariska Hargitay has taken a reduced role for one final year, which has left the door open for two new leads to come in.
And after a grueling search, it appears the final ruling is in:

Thank goodness!
We were devastated to report a while back that the super SEKS Christopher Meloni was getting ready to leave his hit series, Law & Order: SVU.
Luckily, producers must have offered him a significant pay raise because he's now seriously backpeddling and asserting that his comments about leaving the series were conveniently misunderstood by the reporter!
He says:
"What I said was 'When your contract is done…that will be the end. Because when your contract is done, it's usually the end. But when [producers] come back to me, you know, we can always talk.' I couched it incorrectly. It wasn't [the reporter's] fault. I had one year [left] on my contract. Our show hasn't been picked up. Those are the facts of the matter."
Phew! We seriously doubt SVU is going anywhere - it's the best police procedural since the original Law & Order, and Benson and Stabler are the best together!!
And what would happen to Ice-T and our beloved Coco?! Girlfriend needs those guest-starring roles!
Thanks for staying committed, Chris! Crisis averted!!
