After nearly a three-year hiatus from designing couture, Christian Lacroix is ready for his comeback!

The French designer been chosen to pay homage to late Italian couturier Elsa Schiaparelli with a 15-piece collection to be presented in June in Paris.

The appointment comes seven years after Italian fashion mogul Diego Delle Valle purchased the Schiaparelli trademarks and archives and a year since he announced a relaunch of the house during the Schiaparelli-and-Prada-themed Met Gala in 2012.

Speaking of the late designer, Lacroix said:

The Met's Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibit came to a close on Sunday and attendance was wayyyy down.

Compared to last year's record-breaking Alexander McQueen exhibit, which was viewed by more than 661,000 people, only 339,838 came out to see Schiaparelli and Prada.

Even though the McQueen exhibit was extended twice, the numbers are still pretty disappointing, but not exactly surprising either.

Hopefully next year's will be more inneresting.

Geez. TIME's selection committee is strict!

This is so MAJ!

Rumor has it J.Lo will be performing at this year's Costume Institute Gala!

Vogue is denying their April cover girl will get On the Floor, but considering the event is a month and a half away we're not surprised.

Personally, we think J.Lo would be the perfect performer. She's always been a loyal attendee of the event and with all her success over the last year, it only makes sense for her shake her thing for Anna Wintour.

It's going to be hard to follow the record-breaking Alexander McQueen retrospective, but the Costume Institute and Metropolitan Museum of Art think they have the answer.

Rumor has it next year's exhibit will focus on the work of Miuccia Prada and Coco Chanel's biggest rival Elsa Schiaparelli!

Sounds promising.
