For weeks, we've been hearing about how President Obama and Fidel Castro's brother President Raúl Castro made a deal that relaxed the laws about travel between America and Cuba.
Well, people can begin traveling there as soon as today! Friday the 16th!
According to Obama's new rules, if airlines begin regular service to the country, people may only need to check a box when buying tickets online, and off they go on vacation!
There are still stipulations though. Every trip must have a purpose, whether it's for educational, religious, cultural, journalistic, humanitarian or family purposes, among other permitted reasons. Also, as of now, people still need to travel in groups.
Travel isn't the only thing that got easier either. It's now easier to send money to Cuba, as well as spend it. People can use credit cards there and even bring back up to $100 in Cuban cigars.
United Airlines and American Airlines are among the companies trying to secure regular service to and from Cuba. While people need to still have a legitimate reason for being in the country, booking air travel will be much more relaxed.
However, some people are worried that Cuba's infrastructure can't hold up to what could be a huge influx of tourism.
We'll all just have to wait and see…
