In Memoriam — Henry Winkler Honors The Late Garry Marshall & More During The 2016 Emmys

The most poignant moment of every Emmys ceremony is the In Memoriam, in which we celebrate the work of those who passed.

This year, television lost a true legend in Garry Marshall, the creator of The Odd Couple, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, and more.

Happy Days star Henry Winkler led off the segment by saying a few words about the brilliance and generosity of his late friend, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Maggie Smith Nabs Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series AGAIN At The 2016 Emmys — But Jimmy Kimmel Has Something To Say About Her Absence!

Maggie Smith is on a roll!

Despite never showing up to the Emmys, Maggie scored Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the 2016 Emmys for her role in Downton Abbey. The win comes as a bit of a surprise considering the Game Of Thrones ladies were all serious contenders.

Obviously, there was no acceptance speech to be had considering the actress was MIA again. At least host Jimmy Kimmel was there to make fun of the moment!

Taking a jab at the 81-year-old, Jimmy joked about how the winner could find her award in the "lost and found".

HA! We're guessing Maggie probably won't care about the dig considering this is her fourth Emmy win…

Congrats to the other nominees: Maura Tierney, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, and Constance Zimmer.

Patton Oswalt Gives A Shoutout To His Daughter & Late Wife While Accepting The Emmy For Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special

Filed under: TV NewsR.I.P.Love LineEmmysFamilyCeleb KidzHeartwarming

Patton Oswalt just made us tear up.

On Sunday, the comedian received the Emmy for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special, for his Netflix standup special Patton Oswalt: Talking For Clapping.

The 47-year-old beat out Amy Schumer, John Mulaney, Tig Notaro, and the comedians behind Triumph's Election Special 2016.

In fact, the funny man genuinely didn't think he had a shot at taking home the trophy, admitting:

"I didn't prepare a speech. I didn't think I was going to win."

But, even though his speech was off-the-cuff, the United States of Tara alum melted our hearts when he gave the sweetest shoutout to his 7-year-old little girl and his late wife, Michelle McNamara, who suddenly passed away earlier this year:

"I want to thank two people, my daughter, Alice, who is waiting at home, and the other, who is waiting somewhere else."

We're so happy for Courtney B. Vance!

At the 2016 Emmys, Courtney made his The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story costars proud as he won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie.

For those who missed it, Vance did an AMAZING job of portraying the late Johnnie Cochran, the spirited lawyer who served on O.J.'s "dream team" and delivered the infamous line "if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit"!

In the actor's acceptance speech, he gave a short and sweet shoutout to the cast members of the show while also praising his wife… AKA the woman who "rocks" his "chain"! Let's just say Courtney REALLY loves his wifey Angela Bassett!

Obviously, this is a major win for Court considering he beat his costar Cuba Gooding Jr. and fellow nominees Bryan Cranston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Idris Elba, and Tom Hiddleston. Talk about an accomplishment!

P.S. We loved when the star shouted "Obama out! Hillary in!" before walking off stage.
