Do cardio first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. Studies have shown that when doing cardio on an empty stomach, a higher percentage of calories burned come from fat versus carbohydrates. If you don’t have the option to do cardio in the morning, don’t consume carbohydrates at least 2 hours prior to performing cardio.
