Media Moguls' Salaries Going Up Once Again…

media moguls recent stats

Curious to hear which media moguls made mad money in the past couple of years?

Here are some recent yearly total compensation stats from the highest paid moguls in the entertainment industry:

-Disney's Bob Iger earned $28 million total in 2010

-Viacom's Philippe Dauman earned $84.5 million total in 2010

-CBS' Les Moonves earned $43.2 million in 2009

-News Corp's Rupert Murdoch earned $22.7 million in 2010

Certainly, there are some moguls who have taken paycuts for the sake of their companies, but the big guys here seem to be doing quite well for themselves…especially Philippe!

$84.5 million?!?!?!? It's good to be the President/CEO of Viacom!

What do U think of these salaries? Do U think these media moguls are getting paid what they deserve?

The Smith Kids Are "Getting Pimped And Exploited"!

"These kids don't already know what they "love". Total bullshit" - Terry McMillan

Willow and Jaden Smith are “getting pimped and exploited”, according to NAACP Image Award nominee (2011) and Waiting To Exhale author, Terry McMillan.

After hearing that Willow is simultaneously working on an album and remake of the musical Annie with her dad, Will Smith and Jay-Z, McMillan had this to tweet:

"The Smith children already act like child stars. There's an arrogance in their demeanor and behavior. I find it incredibly sad."
"It feels like the Smith children are being pimped and exploited. Or, they're already hungry for fame. What about 4th grade?"
"A lot of A-list movie stars shielded their children from the Hollywood-world until they were old enough to decide. Look at those who didn't."
"Look at Lindsay. Phoenix. To name but a few. They miss out on childhood. It's more important than fame."

Think that Willow and Jaden are Lucky to have the opportunity to do what they love? Terry calls “Total B.S.”!

She says:

"These kids don't already know what they "love". Total bullshit. They're not prodigies. They think Hollywood is real."
"Why don't they do a remake of The Little Rascals and call it a day? Or, come up with an original film with some ethnic pride. Come on."
"Okay. I've said enough about the Smith children. I'm not debating about them. It's just my opinion. People can justify anything, though."
"I raised my son. I'm not wasting another minute worrying about how Will & Jada are raising their kids."
"P.S. I loved the Karate Kid."

Well, apparently The Karate Kid had enough ethnic pride and originality for Terry!

What do you think? Are Jada and Will exploiting their kids? Are the Smith Kids too young to work Big Willie style?

Little J Is Sorry!

Uh-oh! Sounds like a certain somebody's parents weren't too happy about a certain someone running her mouth off to the press!

Even though Taylor Momsen wants the world to think that she's mature beyond her 16 years and speaks a little too frankly to the press about things she probably knows very little to nothing about, she's actually back-tracking on the comments she made regarding her folks forcing her into the entertainment business too young, and taking away from her childhood!

She explains:

"[After reading the article, they felt] horrible! I love my mom and dad. Maybe I didn't have the childhood people think you should have, but I still went through the ages, I was still a child. Maybe it wasn't a conventional one, but you know… I like where I am now so it's okay. I think my parents have learned by this point that none of [what they read] is probably true, and words can be put in your mouth."

We're actually very pleased that she did this!

THIS acknowledgement and regard for the feelings of your parents is a true sign of maturity, bb!

It's not always easy to own up to a mistake, and then apologize for it, so we're proud of you!

We guess our Little J really is growing up! LOLz!

Little J Is A Product Of The Industry

We're not surprised she feels this way - she's been in front of the camera her entire life!

Taylor Momsen recently revealed that she woke up one morning to the realization that she's a product of growing up in the entertainment industry!

She explains:

"You get more insight as you get older, on everything. I kind of woke up one morning and was like, 'Oh I see what's happening, I get everything.' I woke up and was like, 'I get it, I'm a product.' Fame just kind of happens overnight. No one prepares you for it. On 'Gossip Girl', I was just going to work, doing what I've always done, and then all of a sudden you're like, 'Woah!' But you get used to it. You ignore it - because whatever people say about me doesn't bother me at all. If you're in high school or college or at work, someone's not going to like you. It's inevitable. But it doesn't mean anything."

And you're still growing up, bb! You haven't stopped yet, nor will you stop getting more and more insight as time goes on.

Just keep in mind that even though you've been working like an adult and living an adult life, you're still allowed to be a kid!

Vampires Bring $7 Billion To Hollywood Economy!

Holy shiz!

The Hollywood trend of vampires has boosted the industry's economy immensely bringing in around $7 billion!

With $3 billion from films, $1.6 billion from publishing, $600 million in merchandising, TV/DVDs bringing in $1.2 billion and $600 million coming in from other vampire themed projects, we definitely don't see vamps leaving the Hollywood scene anytime soon!

What do U think?
