X Factor Season One Winner Melanie Amaro Dropped From Epic Records?

melanie amaro dropped epic records

Oh no! This makes us super sad!

X Factor’s season three auditions kicked off today in El Lay, but where has season one winner, Melanie Amaro, been??

Unfortunately, it looks as though Mel’s been dropped from Epic Records, though no official confirmation has been made.

The label previously tried to release three different singles — and even had her perform Long Distance on XF this season — but none of them gained any traction.

It also seems that her debut album, Truly, was supposed to drop last year but has since been given a release date of December 31st, 2013!

Not only that, but on Epic’s website, she is no longer listed on the artist roster page… and neither is her fellow XF season one alum, Astro, which can't be a good sign.

Season one’s Chris Rene and Marcus Canty, however, remain on the artist roster page, and so does season two’s girl group, Fifth Harmony.

We think it’s a total shame if Epic really did drop Melanie, seeing as she has SO much talent and such a remarkable voice! Unfortunately, it seems as though not enough support was put behind her in the long-run.

Perhaps they could've done some rebranding??

We wish Melanie the best of luck in the future, though, no matter what the outcome!

Lil' Wayne Offends The Masses! Compares American Hero's Death To WHAT?!

Whoa!

We've always known Lil' Wayne to be controversial, but he has taken it a bit too far this time!

The rapper was recently featured on Future's Karate Chop remix, which was all fine and dandy until we heard the rapper spew an offensive reference to African-American hero Emmett Till.

Lil's lyrics were so degrading that Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid apologized to the 1955 Jim Crow South victim's family himself and promised to remove all traces of the song from the internet.

Epic Records said in a formal apology:

Chris Rene Performs Young Homie On Ellen!

He may not have won X Factor, but that doesn't mean Chris Rene is going anywhere!

The reality competition finalist made his debut performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, performing his single Young Homie, which you may remember he sang in his very first audition, while appearing alongside his mentor L.A. Reid!

Ch-ch-check it out (above)!

With this guy's truly inspirational story - and his really authentic, natural talent - how can you NOT root for him?!

And it's so nice to hear him say this time around "nine months sober" instead of the "two months" he originally sang the first time we heard this!

Congratulations on all of your accomplishments, Chris!

We can't wait to see where your career takes you!
