We suppose the jury really felt the sportscaster's pain for being publicly embarrassed in such a heinous and sick way. It's also clear the hotel chains involved in this case were SEVERELY negligent.

Congrats to Erin on her win… we hope this brings you some sense of closure.

Defense Witness Compares Erin Andrews' Leaked Peephole Videos To… Bed Bugs?!

Erin Andrews

The defense is striking back against Erin Andrews' $75 million lawsuit against the Nashville Marriott.

Earlier this week, the sports broadcaster testified that the hotel could have prevented Michael Barrett from being able to film her in the nude.

In response, the hotel's attorneys are saying it was a freak occurrence that couldn't have been nipped in the bud as the staff handled the situation according to protocol.

On Wednesday, defense witness Stephen Barth — a professor of hospitality law at Houston's Conrad N. Hilton College — took the stand. He testified:

"It's my opinion that the [Nashville] Marriott met or exceeded its duty of care to Ms. Andrews on the day this incident occurred."

Later in the testimony Barth compared the peephole videos to bed bugs:

Erin Andrews' Peephole Video Reportedly Mocked During Dinner With Marriott Rep Amid Lawsuit

Filed under: Icky Icky PooLegal MattersSad Sad

This is so horrible!

And this just goes to prove Erin Andrews' point.

The sportscaster's peephole video was played at a Marriott representative's dinner table in Nashville on Tuesday night, and was reportedly openly joked about.

As a recap, Andrews is suing the hotel, along with other entities, for $75 million for the alleged negligence of allowing someone to film her naked through a peeping tom hole.

So you can imagine just how distasteful it was when that the video was playing at Neal Peskind's dinner. While he admits the clip was played, it wasn't him that showed it to his companions. He says he quickly objected and asked them to stop, "and while they did so, it was not as quickly as I had hoped."

Although an eyewitness at the restaurant says that Peskind was actually the one to pull up the clip, and he and his friends even joked about Erin's body, saying she doesn't deserve the money.

On Wednesday, the rep responded to the claim and released a statement in regards to the recent event, sharing:

"This incident has been blown into something it was not. I would never disrespect Ms. Andrews and what she has been through. This is a very unfortunate situation that should not be a reflection on West End Hotel Partners or to our commitment to the issues in this case surrounding what happened to her. I sincerely apologize for my participation in what happened."

Regardless, it's a horrible situation and never should have happened in the first place.

Erin Andrews Reveals She Now 'Booby Traps' All Of Her Hotel Rooms While Defense Claims The Peephole Videos Propelled Her Career

Erin Andrews

What a mess.

As we told you, Erin Andrews took the stand on Monday to testify in her $75 million lawsuit regarding her high-profile stalking case in 2008. For those who don't know, Andrews was horrifically violated when a man named Michael David Barrett secretly videotaped her naked through a peeping tom hole after obtaining personal information from hotel employees.

The incident took place in the Nashville Marriott and Erin wants to hold the popular hotel chain accountable.

During her second day on the stand, Miz Andrews described the painstaking process she's forced to complete every time she checks into a new hotel:

"As soon as I get to a hotel, no matter what city or state I'm in, I tell them I want to be moved from the room I was pre-booked in. I want to be moved. I also say if someone has asked to be next to me, they need to call me. I instantly cover the peep hole and then I do a check of the room. I look everywhere. I look for lights. I look for red lights. I look to see if there's cameras. I check the bed. I check the alarm clock. I check the phone. I booby trap my room."

When asked to describe what she meant by "booby trap," she explained:

"I put a piece of paper down by the door so when I leave, if someone comes into the room I can tell. I just put something by it so that if somebody walks in, I can just tell."

Needless to say, the scary incident left her traumatized:

"I'll always have to go get treatment for this. I'll always need to talk to somebody about this because this will always be on the Internet. This will always be there. There will always be a reminder, every single day. The thing that really hits home for me and hurts me the worst is when girls—high school, college—they tweet me and say, 'I want to be Erin Andrews except for the Marriott stalker thing' and I can't control that and that's every day. That doesn't get better."

Ugh. Such a shame.

Meanwhile, the defense is arguing that the peephole videos were good for her career. Um excuse us, WHAT?

Making the argument that the leaked videos might've been part of some sort of publicity stunt, Marc Dedman pressed the Dancing With The Stars host about the actual effect on her career:

Erin Andrews Emotionally Testifies In Court That Her Peeping Tom Scandal Could Have Been 'Stopped'

Its been a long and harrowing seven years for Erin Andrews.

On Monday, Erin took the stand against a Marriott hotel in Nashville for alleged negligence. The sportscaster is currently suing the hotel, among with other entities, for $75 million dollars over a high-profile stalking case in 2008.

For those who don't know, Andrews was horrifically violated when a man named Michael David Barrett secretly videotaped her naked through a peeping tom hole. The incident took place the Nashville Marriott and Erin wants to hold the popular hotel chain accountable.

While Barrett already served a 30 month prison sentence along with other fines, the blonde is adamant that hotel employees allowed this transgression to happen and they too should pay a price. Essentially, Michael had requested to stay in the room adjacent to E.A. and even went as far to inquire the dates she'd be staying at the location.

Speaking on the irresponsible decisions of the chain (the same incident occurred at a Radisson in Wisconsin), the reporter revealed:

"I'm so angry. This could have been stopped. No one ever called me or told me when I checked in that he asked to be put next to me. All I wanted to do is be respected, be the girl who loves sports, and now I'm the girl with the scandal. It's embarrassing. It was everywhere…My naked body was on the front page of the New York Post."

Wow. How heartbreaking.

To make matters worse, authorities told Erin the images of her nude will be on the internet until she dies. Once an image hits the web, it's extremely difficult for it to ever be removed… it's also a common problem found in child pornography cases.

Adding insult to injury, for a long time the public assumed this leak was just another publicity stunt a la Farrah Abraham or Kim Kardashian West.

The Dancing With The Stars Host admitted not being believed was one of the worst parts of the situation:

"Probably for like three months, everybody thought it was a publicity stunt. The front page of the New York Post said ‘ESPN Scandal.' To Fox News and CBS, everybody put up that I was doing it for publicity and attention, and that ripped me apart."

As for how the case has left her, the former Florida resident admitted:

"I was living like a hermit. It was nothing like who I am. It was nothing like who I tried to be."

Considering Monday's testimony was so emotional (the session also included a painful anecdote from Andrews' poppa Steven Andrews), we have no doubt the days to follow will be just as tough.

Stay strong, Erin!

Erin Andrews Leaves The Courtroom In Tears Before Jurors Are Shown Invasive Peeping Tom Videos

Erin Andrews

Ugh. Erin Andrews is still going through the peeping tom nightmare from nearly eight years ago.

On Thursday, a jury was shown the nude videos that a convicted stalker secretly recorded of the sportscaster in her hotel room back in 2008.

Jurors were reportedly very somber as they reviewed the four and a half minute clip, with one woman even turning her eyes from the projector.

Andrews was seen leaving the courtroom with tears in her eyes before the footage was shown.

To catch you up, Andrews brought a $75 million civil case against the stalker Michael Barrett, in addition to the franchise owner of the Nashville Marriott (West End Partners), and the Windsor Capital Group that manages the hotel — where Andrews claims hotel employees told Barrett her whereabouts and allowed him to book the room next to hers.

Yikes.

According to a testimony from computer scientist Bernard Jansen, an estimated 16.8 million people have seen the peephole videos or photos that have been lifted from them since 2009.

He said:

"Right now, someone's watching that video, and another minute, maybe two."

Back in 2010, Barrett was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to stalking and gouging peepholes in Andrews' hotel room door.

The beauty's father Steve Andrews also took the stand to testify on his daughter's behalf saying that the incident left the Dancing With The Stars host "terrified," "depressed," and a "shell" of her former self.

So sad.

We will keep you updated as the case is set to resume on Monday.
