Pedro Hernandez is in court today for the trial to determine whether or not he murdered Etan Patz over 33 years ago.
Even though he is pleading not guilty, he had already confessed to the murder a few months ago, but his lawyers claim that was due to his mental illness and is not valid.
However, details of his confession have been leaked to the public and it is shocking to read to say the least:

Jose Ramos, the man who was originally booked for the murder of 5-year-old Etan Patz over 25 years ago was released from prison only to end back in jail almost immediately.
Authorities said the man was arrested for violating the Megan's Law and failing to provide authorities accurate information as required of sex offenders
Police did not immediately specify what information Ramos failed to provide.
Hopefully, they will eventually clear this up! The family seriously deserves some closure after all these years!

Jose Ramos, the man who was convicted of murdering Etan Patz almost twenty five years ago, is set to be freed from prison next month.
Ramos was declared responsible for Patz's death in civil court, but could not be charged criminally because of a lack of evidence. The evidence prosecutors did have was based off of Ramos' relationship with Patz's former babysitter and the fact that police arrested him and found a ton of pictures of young blonde boys in Ramos' backpack.
However, since Pedro Hernandez's confession this past spring to murdering Patz - a confession that many are wary of, the courts have determined to let Ramos leave after more than two decades behind bars.
